Default Photograph details

Hello everyone,

I'm a newbie, not just to DSLR photography but also to this site. I've been following this site with great enthusiasm although still learning how to manoeuver around here. Not sure if my questions below are silly or whether they've been covered before but I'll ask anyway:

1. I've been wanting to share some of my pics here (on the assignments thread) but haven't got a clue about where to locate details about my photos; eg details such as:

Camera: .....
Focal length: ...mm
Date taken: dd/mm/yy
ISO: ...
Shutter speed: ....
Aperture: f/....

I'm using a Canon DSLR EOS 450D. At the moment I'm only just learning to take photos in autofocus mode; would that be the reason why I cannot locate this info? What would this feature be called? I did a quick "word" search but to no avail.

2. Would I be able to transfer my pics from my Flickr account onto this site? If yes, where can I locate info on how to do this? If not, would someone be able to direct me to some info on how to do this easily (for dummies version).

3. Another newbie question, how would one correctly store a camera in its case? Lens facing down, facing up, or sit the camera like how it would sit on a tripod?

Thanks very much everyone!

#1. Follow the link:

#2. No.

#3. All depends on what kind of bag/case/duffle bag you have.

To learn how to post an image from Flickr, click here.

To find your EXIF, on the photo page in your Flickr, look to the right. Click where it says "more properties". Your EXIF will come up, and you can copy and paste it into the post here.

Hope this helps.

Also, if you would like to look at a photo's EXIF from your computer, and if you are using Microsoft Windows, just right-click on a photo, then select Properties and then select the Summary tab and click the Advanced button.

Welcome to DPS.

Yap, that's right, you can only look at it.
I'm sure you can copy the EXIF info from a bunch of photo editing and organizing programs, just not sure which are free and good enough to use. Maybe someone else can tell us that.

If you've got flickr just copy the exif from there. Its easy.

Camera storage. It really doesn't which way up you store it, it won't leak , just make sure the lens cap is on.
