Question eBay deals too good to be true?

Hello everyone, I have a question.
I am currently using a school provided Nikon D-80, but once I graduate, I will be camera-less.

So I have gone to ebay to see cameras for sale, and I see what appear to be really good deals. Granted, I know how ebay works, and feedback and how to watch out for scams and the like. But a search for the nikon d-90 for example:

http://shop.ebay.com/items/?_nkw=nik...+d80&_osacat=0

returns alot of deals that seem to good to be true.
So really my only question, is has anyone ever bought any camera off ebay and had no problems with it?

I hope I posted this in the right place, and thank you!

If it's too good to be true... it almost certainly is. Especially on ebay.

That said, a lot of those offers on there look like nikon-provided "kits" anyhow... you might look at adorama or b&h for similar kits to see if they're offered, and at what prices.

Also if it's too good to be true then wait until closer to the time when the auction will end. I haven't looked at your link, and honestly I don't need to in order to tell you that a nice portion of the "too good to be true" deals are auctions where people are holding off on bidding until the last minute.

I have bought a ton of stuff off e-bay without any problems. You have to do your homework, that the main thing you need to do. You can end up with quality products, at times, at a fraction of the price. I buy a large majority of my equipment there.

Thank you everyone!
I guess in the end, common sense and an eye for scams is really all I would need while looking on ebay.

The thing to do with ebay is to 'watch' a number of similar items & then you can see what the current 'going rate is' once the auction has finished. I successfully bought a refurbished Canon 40D it came with a one year warranty. The price dropped when the 50D was announced - so if you don't need to buy the VERY latest (which too soon becomes yesterday's model) look around for the out going model - many people will still be using that model for several years to come.
