Default What settings do you have?

What settings do you usually have your camera in. As far as sharpness, contrast, saturation. do you set those or leave them at 0 and then do the work PP?

I shoot in RAW, so I don't worry about camera settings and do any corrections in Photoshop.

That is what I do also. I just started wondering what other people do.

I use certain things such as FPS, autofocus, AF-L, AE-L ...etc... what buttons do what and for what purpose.

Letting the camera do all that fun stuff is, frankly, archaic.

RAW all the way

I have a question. What are the general settings for Outside Day/Night and Indoors? I'm looking for a general f/s, ISO and Shutter Speed. The reason I ask is because well 1. I'm a beginner and 2. seems like i'm having trouble with my shots. I'm finding I have to take about 3 to 4 shots before I get a ok look. So please someone HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLPPP .

Thanks

Letting cameras do all that stuff for you is great! That way you don't have to worry about it and waste time, when you could be out making great photos instead!

That's my view, anyhow. I generally stay with "normal" settings, sometimes "Moderate" saturation (because my D40 likes to make things pop a bit much).

As always, this is just my opinion, so don't listen to me unless you know why you agree.

There truly are no solid answers to this one. But, what kinds of trouble are you having? If you stay in Program, Aperture, or Shutter priority modes, the camera will be smart enough to help choose appropriate settings -- a very valuable feature, which you shouldn't ignore! Details of your troubles would be helpful.
