Default Meaning of initials--ie LOL=laugh out loud and others

This might have been covered sometime earlier--I looked and didn't see anything--But all these initials (I am sure there is a better name for this) like DOF= Depth of Field, OOF = out of focus and I see so many more. Can someone clue me in or lead me to some guide that explains them all--I see them on flickr and in other postings as well. This weeks Weekly Assignment uses SOOC and I have no idea what is being talked about. Thanks

SOOC = straight out of camera

I thought there was a list somewhere, but I guess not.

Use this http://www.wonderfulphotos.com/artic...eras/acronyms/ although it actually doesnt have the SOOC one

That is a great list! Thanks much!

What about the conversation ones that have little to do with the photography--but with things like LOL and someother one I have seen with LOL in it. Any ideas? It is almost like another language.

We actually just use "df" for degrees of freedom in our classes

Other acronyms you might see online (mainly in chat rooms if not here)

rofl = rolling on the floor laughing
brb = be right back
wb = welcome back
ty = thank you

It took me a little while to work out what SOOC meant!
