Default Choosing a pic for art show

Hello!

I am not sure at all if this is the correct place for this thread, so if it is in the wrong place or shouldn't be up here at all, please let me know...

The office where I work is putting on an Art Show (clearly it will be a bunch of amateurish photography, which means maybe I have a shot of doing not-so-terrible in it). One of the categories is "human interest". The best description of the category I got from the person running the show is that it "has something to do with people"...

Anywho, I am really indecisive and can't seem to decide which photo I like best for this category. I have narrowed it down to a few choices. I know they are not the greatest, but I like them would like to show one of them off at work. The winner is decided by the employees voting in the cafeteria over lunch.

If anyone is interested, please take a look at my narrowed down choices and help me decide... they are in a set on my flickr page. I have some little fake borders on them just to help me see what it will look like cropped to 8X10, matted, and framed.

I am not necessarily looking for an actual critique of the photos, just more of a first impression sort of choice. But any comments/contructive criticism are greatly appreciated! I am trying to learn/practice as much as I can!

Thank you!!!

(In order, with rough titles used from your flickr titles.)

5487has some awesome eyes, but not much else working for me.
Kelly01 I'm digging as, again, you've got the eyes popping mad, but with the windswept hair, and the negative space with the DOF, looks great.
Kelly doesn't do much for me -- a great photo, but looks like one for the family album, not a show. Same with fingerwise_baby. Damn you capture eyes brilliantly.
I really like the wine glass, too. Though, shame it was cropped a little tight, but still a really nice photo. Crisp detail on the glass, wine and fingers, nice DOF into the background.

My personal pick would be the windswept hair photo, closely followed by the wine glass.

By the by, some real nice golf shots later in your collection

My vote is also for the windswept hair photo as #1, followed by the wine glass

I agree with the others. The girl with the hair is a very nice shot.

I would pick the wine glass.. a lot of people are going to show photos of "people".. so the wine glass photo would stand out among them..
lovely captures.. all of them.

I agree with Hope, If you want to stand out from the crowd go with something out of the ordinary and going with these choices I would go with the wine glass.

I really like the wine glass! I definitely choose that because it has great color and focus and it stands out. My second favorite is the wind swept hair.
Good Luck!
