Default What to do with all these images...

Since joining DPS, I have grown and challenged myself more and more. I find my collections of images growing by leaps and bounds. I am not sure what I am going to do with all of these. I enjoy taking them and even better I really enjoy looking at them. I can not frame them all.

My question is this:

What do you do with your large collections of images?
Do you sell them? Do you frame them? Do you give some as gifts? Do you print the great ones and put them in albums? So many options.

I will not delete them but I want them to be enjoyed not just stored on my computer or disks.

I think I need to get some digital picture frames so I can enjoy many images over and over and then just change them out.

I would love to hear any ideas, suggestions or experiences you have.

I do all of the above.
I have catologs full of cd's of saved images.
I frame them, matt them, sell them, give them away and donate them for various organizations for fundraisers.
During the winter my house fills with framed images as I stock up for the summer shows. Then start all over again.
Be sure to always back up your images somewhere. I've had pc's crash and have lost literally thousands of images

Windrider86, Thanks and I do constantly burn my catalogs onto disks. I am always afraid of a computer crash. That must have been awful! I never thought about donating some, that is a great idea.

maxharvard and SusanH1970 ~ LMAO~ You two are hysterical! Thanks for the giggle.

I have a media server hooked to my 42" HDTV which displays random photos as it's screensaver. I also have an old laptop with a decent display that I converted to a digital photo frame. It connects to my wireless network and pulls new photos from the server every day so there is always something new to look at.

Im finding the same thing, now that I have upgraded to digital!! Digital photo frames are good and also putting everything on disc helps. Ive learnt to be pretty ruthless with pics and just delete anything that not looking its best.

Use selected images for desktop wallpaper. I've got my Mac set up so it gives me a different background every day from a selection of images that work well as wallpaper.

Use a screensaver that pulls information from your photo collection - in effect, this turns your monitor into a very large digital photo frame. I find this very useful for reminding me of long forgotten images.

Tag your images - I use Flickr for this purpose. I love posting up an image and then clicking on the tags to find out what I've achieved with the same subject in the past (especially when I get a "best yet" type result). I also sometimes use the tags when I know what subjects to expect and I want to give myself a headstart in surpassing past efforts.

Hi Michelle, at the beginning of each year I go through the images for the previous year, pick out my favourites, not necessarily the best, and produce a photo book. So when ever I like I can sit down and look at the highlights of the previous year.
