Default Rent to Own Equipment

I know to a lot of you "professionals" this may seem like a really stupid idea. But - I was curious if anyone knows of a company that rents to own lenses? I have found several to rent from - and I have in the past. I really want a particular wide angle lens for the business that I have started, but with all my other start up costs, I have left the one lens out since is isn't really a necessity at this time. I am now kicking myself since I should have put this lens in with the loan that I got. But I didn't.

And, of course, the more I think about it - the more I want it.

Anyone know of rent to own companies?

I can't say that it's a good idea, honestly. You end up paying twice for the same thing. I wouldn't do it.

I KNOW!!! Sad thing is - I am one of those impulse people. I NEED it so I can validate the purchase. LOL! I need help!

I would put it on my credit card, but I am in the middle of building a house and my husband would KILL me for doing that. Although - I always liked the saying, "better to ask for forgiveness than permission"

Since you say it isn't a necessity at this time, when you start making from your business, purchase it then.

I would say:

Don't buy it. Wait until things are more stable. You don't NEED this thing. You can make do until you are better off.

Before I hear the "but, but, but!!!" ... I know there is... You'll be fine. Suck it up, be inventive and you'll be better off for it.

I am fairly new to DPS but I think in my reading I remember a couple of the DPS sages saying something along these lines: The lens does not make the photographer.

They recommend holding off and forcing one's self to find a way to take the pictures you think you need to take with the missing lens, with the lenses you have on hand. Then when you have made some money reevaluate and see if you still need the lens.

It has to be over $2.5k, though
