Default Popular Photographers

I am taking a class at one of the community colleges here in San Diego and we have to write a report on a photographer and wanted to know which photographers catch your eye. The thing is I can't do the same photographers as other people in the class. I know that Ansel Adams, Joe McNally, and Annie Leibowitz have been taken. So I would need some great photographers that you guys can suggest. I am into landscapes and also portrait photography. Any input would help. Thanks

Look at the work of Sally Mann. She was a bit controversial for her time but she has taken some amazing shots

Rick Sammon and Nick Didlick ( he laughs at his own name) are a couple more to consider. Both are good teachers and have good things to learn on their web sites. Rick does landscapes and portraits and Nick does portraits of famous people and some landscapes. He also instructs the Nikon school--which is great even if you don't own a Nikon.
