*GASP*
I like it. I normally despise flash, but I think youve used it very well. Im going to assume that the images in most of the galleries are place holders and will be filled in eventually. If not, then you should! The "about" window that popped up was just a slightest bit too small for the amount of text, so you use the "faded scroll" effect. While I like the effect, it's kinda useless: just make the window bigger. Overall, an elegant design and a simple but easy and effective interface. My only complaint is the images (the "wedding" images in particular were not portfolio matieral, IMO).

About the About section. I feel the same way and I want to rewrite that section and expand a little on that to talk a bit more about my photography. I wrote this one almost 8 months ago. It's overdue a change. Thanks for the Input. You ROCK buddy! |

Since there's no link in your message, I'm going to assume that the website you want reviewed is the "www" link in your tagline.
IMO the hidden menus are the WORST offender for this site design. Don't make me think about how to get from section to section. Don't make remember what I did last to make that hidden menu appear. Can I figure it out? Sure. But don't make me; it's annoying. Finally, you've got some "Mystery Meat" navigation happening with the two icons on the far right. I was able to guess what the jumping bar graph did, but I had to try out the box in order to discover it was full screen mode. Too much unnecessary animation. Photos are changing, "Visit my Blog in the Mean Tim" is flying across the screen, and if I've moved my mouse near an edge I might be triggering one of the hidden menus. Once in the menus the section areas animate by highlighting and rolling down (although in my case, if I don't have my mouse placement exactly right they just flicker). Web music, ugh! Thank the gods that the music stops on it's own, but not soon enough. Web sites with music are probably the only "universal evil" on the internet but they deserve the honor.

Ahhrrrhhrhhhhhhr my ears.
The one time I'm browsing with my speakers on and you have to assult my ears with crappy elevantor music, get rid of it. (OK - Maybe the dramatic reaction was for effect but you really should know by now from the hundreds of threads on here already telling people to ditch the music that it is a bad ieda.) |

I really like the site but if it were mine I would just have the menu bar at the top permanently affixed.
Thats a great site to me......

Can't really add anything, but another vote for no hidden menu and no music. I like the look of it. Loaded quickly and moves between screens quickly, too. Very good!

Hmmm. I thought I had killed the music! That was my first thought when I heard it too. As for the flickering menus. Yea, I noticed they do that when I use certain fonts. Unfortunately it's the good fonts it hates. I'll have to work on that. I'm going to clear the music folder and see how fast the cache clears. Thanks for the input.

I would say make the menu availible rather then hiding it but also create a title page that you enter from. For me I didn't like just being thrown into the gallery pictures right off the bat.
