Hello,
I am in the process of determining wear to buy my first DSLR. Online, I am finding less expensive prices. However, Ritz/Wolf camera in my area is offering 12 classes along with the purchase of a new camera. I was wondering if anyone had opinions about the classes. Are they worth buying the camera at Ritz/Wolf for that reason (and for a chunk more of money)? I have been shooting with higher end point and shoots, so I have thought classes where all the buttons and settings are explained would be worthwhile. However, I have also thought reading the manual and systematically playing with different settings would do the same. I look forward to hearing thoughts and opinions. Thank you. |

Are you sure your Ritz is going to be open? Pretty sure they filed for bankruptcy.
Just be careful with online shopping, check resellerratings.com first.

There are plent of free videos you can view to learn stuff on YouTube and other places. Also you can get very good inexpensive online training from places like lynda.com. I bought my first D40 from J&R.com, but everything else (see my sig line) I have purchased lightly used from people in various forums for a fraction of the cost new.
