Default Which came first....

the lens or the flash?

Just curious...I'm at the point of wanting upgraded glass or a flash. What did you do?

(Actually, to be honest, I got a flash that I knew had a slow refresh time, but didn't think it would make that big of a difference. I was SO wrong, and am currently in the process of selling it! I love the flash, just not the refresh time).

If youre replacing a flash, then get a better flash. That's fairly simple there.

As for which to get otherwise: it depends.

I'd get another lens and save up for a good flash.

My vote is for new glass. You'll get way more good out of that in the long run.

I would say both, at the same time

Haha, I'm having this same debate right now.

I'm wanting to add to my equipment, and am not quite sure. Since I suffer from poor uni student syndrome (which makes a bad acronym, actually...), I'm not sure whether to get a macro lens (the 100mm f/2.8), or get a 430 EXII speedlight (and a off camera wireless setup).

I can't stretch the budget to do both, and I'm thinking the flash may be the best for me for now... yeah? I find it confusing that everyone's recommending new glass at this point. This is me trying to convince myself... haha.
