Default frustration

I've been here a little while now, and have tried my hand at two assignments. (Shallow depth field, and Wisdom.)

Because of these boards, I learned some tricks on dealing with my camera. (It has a broken dial - again.) But I'm soo frustrated too. Because I wanted my shots to be better then they turned out.

They didn't look too bad on the computer monitor... but when I printed them so I had a copy to save ....

So, thanks for reading my pity party. I just needed to get it out, and I'm sure those of the artistic nature will understand.

And I'm glad to be here so I can get better.

Print quality can vary greatly depending on your printer and what paper you are using as well as what program you print from.

Looking back on both your entries, I see nothing wrong at all with them. They are well done, have good composition and right on the subject matter of the assignment.

So....

I say that it's getting the printer to print what you and we are seeing on the screen. I would take a good look at the printer and make sure it's up to printing high quality images.

If they're not printing well, try printing at the highest DPI you can, which is what you get straight off the camera (if you have your camera set to highest quality).

I was printing out on normal, not best. I'm rather low on ink.

Ah, well that would do it too. For the best print I would print at 300 dpi and print best quality.
