Talking HI There- Newbie here

Hi Everybody-

Just wanted to take a moment and introduce myself. I'm Doug and from the small amount of time I have spent on this site so far, I am very impressed of what I have seen. I can probably spend many, many hours here absorbing crazy knowledge of photography.

I have been in photography for about 1 1/2 years now. I shoot with a Nikon D40 and just about a week ago I got my first telephoto lens. I purchased a Sigma 70-300 lens for the Nikon auto focus cameras. I got to go out to a local park today for the first time with it and got some great shots of some geese coming into a lake there. I will post them soon here and would love to hear your thoughts on them. Well, got to go , but I look forward to talking with everybody soon.

Doug

Hey Doug , Welcome to DPS mate , I know you're right about the hours you can spend here, I have given up sleeping so as to learn more , it wasnt that big a sacrifice really although coffee and Mothers are becoming my sole dietry requirements . That said this is a great place to share and learn , now I'm getting all warm and fuzzy dont know if its DPS or the lack of sleep !!!All the best mate look forward to seeing those images .

Welcome to DPS Doug! Hope you will enjoy the site, I know I have!

I got a D40 myself a few months back, and I am jealous of you 70-300 that auto focus with the D40, I have a Nikkor one that doesn't!
Look forward to seeing you photos!
