Default Photography Schools

So, this is what is killing me at this very moment. College. What do I want to do? I have one more year of High School and I really need to start thinking of colleges NOW.

I've looked at a few AI schools that offer "digital photography" and they are kind of expensive..but they really seem worth it!

I also looked at Tisch School of the Arts.

I want to go to a University or whichever to study in digital photography.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Please let me know!

<3 Brent.

Some of my favorite photographers went to the Brooks Institute in California. On a university level, I don't know of any that stand out...I don't know much about it. Good luck though! Deciding what to do and where to go with your life is a daunting task.

Photo District News has this page where it lists schools in every state pretaining to photography in alphabetical order by state. Good luck

Brooks isn't bad, depending on what you want to do, they have more of an advertising/commercial focus.

Tops for PJ, in no particular order: Syracuse, Ohio U. (not Ohio State), W. Kentucky, Mizzou, Kansas State.

Rhode Island School of Design has an excellent photography curriculum, I've heard. A young woman I used to work with is a student there (not in photography, but a good friend of hers that also attends is there for the photography).

Jim's an alum, and I'm a current Master's student.

I got my schooling at Cal. State Fullerton Journalism Department. But really, most of my schooling was later when I was shooting for newspapers.

But what you choose really depends upon what you want to do with your photography. As noted, some schools emphasize commercial, some arts, and some photojournalism. What you want to do should drive your choice of school.
