There are so many people here who have either been in weddings, organized weddings, and especially photographed weddings that I bet there are some great stories to tell.
My story: My wife and I got married about 10 months ago (yeah, I am a newbie). My younger brother was the best man, and so therefor he had my wife's ring. We got married in a very old and historic church called the Chapel of Rest in the North Carolina Appalachian mountains. The church was built in 1887 with wooden planks for all of the flooring built up on a small scaffolding or whatever so that it is flat inside. Well, we are getting ready for the vows and the pastor asks for the rings. My wife's maid of honor gets out my ring and hands it to my wife. My brother gets out my wife's ring, goes to hand it to me - and DROPS it! We watched in horror as it rolled around on the church floor, coming very close to falling through a crack in the floor. Luckily, it didn't fall through, and we finished the service without incident. I won't let him forget about that one though! so how about the rest of you guys?

almost out 5 year anniversary
![]() we had two photographers, one was paid and the other self appointed with a big professional camera. they ware both cr@p beyond words and we only have about 5 images of the intire day that are "ok" from the both of them combined. only 2 that are "nice" 1 of my wife signing the register, and one of the flowergirl. OH, the person who wrote our names on the cake spelled my name incorrectly the cartoon figurines we had made on the top had the wrong colour hair. moral of the story? never pay 100% before delivery

My husband and I met at a biker rally one year. The next year we were at the same rally, the same campground, the same campfire and hung out all weekend. We started dating (we also lived 200 mles apart) well we had both come out of ugly marriages but Rusty decided he had to tell me that he would never marry me and that word was not in his vocabulary and to never bring it up. Kinda hurt my feelings but oh well,
Later I moved to Trinidad to be with him anyway. Well, we went to Vegas for a fun weekend. During that time he proposed, A very mushy proposal. Ok now you have to picture this - he is 6'5" and close to 300 lbs with long hair and a big red beard, so him on one knee was quite the site. Well I didnt believe him so my answer was literaly. "That is soooo not funny, dont $%$ with me like that" the look on his face could have melted the north pole. So anyway, we go and find a chapel. the guy says would you like your picture taken? Rusty says, just hurry up and marry us.Well we did get a few pics anyway and they were horrendous. Some kid with a little tiny Kodak or something. So anyway, thats MY wedding story This weekend is our 4th wedding anniversary and have been together for 6.

My wife & I were married in a little Presbyterian church in Phoenix a little over 16 years ago .
The highlight from the ceremony was when the minister (an old, retired guest minister at the church) completely messed up the Lord's prayer. He left an entire verse out of the middle - we thought we would be doomed for life after that, but we're still going stronger than ever. On the photography side, we hired a guy to shoot the ceremony and our reception and provide us with a complete set of 4x6 prints and some select enlargements. I don't even remember what we paid, even though it wasn't much by professional standards. The pictures came out pretty decent. When he delivered the pictures, he said that he had another complete set of 4x6 prints that he would let us have for $100 (he must have used a double print coupon somewhere!). I said we would think about it and let him know. He gave us the prints and said to call him if we wanted to keep them. After we decided to go ahead and buy them, we tried for 2 weeks to contact him, but he never returned the calls and we never heard from him again - at least we got the pictures first!

Well, it's been almost 22 years so it's amazing I remember much about the early days at all. Actually, we met 8 years before we got married, so we've known each other nearly 30 years. We met when I was a high school freshman. He was a sophomore. We had no interest in each other when we first met. A year later we were hanging with the same group of friends and became best friends. A year later we were dating...then we broke up....then we dated....then we broke up.....then together again for good.
We've got dozens of goofy stories. Like, before we dated I was with another guy. We went to prom, but neither of us could drive yet so my date hired a cheap chauffeur. My future husband drove while I necked with this guy in the back of the car. @@ LOL After we knew we wanted to marry, but hadn't made it official because we were so young, we had a date planned one night. I just did not feel like going out so I called and canceled. Well, he had big plans and was ticked that I canceled, so he showed up at my house and let me know how upset he was I backed out and then shoved a little box at me with something like, "here!" Yep, that was the marriage proposal. The stupid thing about that is that he really is a romantic kind of guy, so it was SO out of character. Good thing I'm pretty low maintenance about stuff like that. The major mess-up at the wedding was caused by the minister. I didn't know him well but we had had a couple of marriage counseling sessions with him. During the prayer in the ceremony he called me by my sister's name, Beth. My husband and I both open our eyes and look at each other, like, "did he just say what I thought he said?" Um, as far as I know he hadn't even met my sister 'til the wedding rehearsal, so I don't know where that came from. He did get it right during the vows, thank goodness! We couldn't afford a lot for photographs, but fortunately a man from my husband's church who was a professional photographer gave us a very reasonable deal since he was friends with my inlaws. They are very nice quality.

My husband and I are coming up on our 1-year anniversary - April 26! This year we will be celebrating in Charleston, SC - my brother in law is getting married the day before our anniversary. He and his fiancee were engaged the day before our wedding last year!! At least it will be easy to remember their anniversary
![]() I actually love our wedding photographs - we both love photography and were really critical when picking a photographer. There were a few stories about our guests - I didn't hear about them until later though! One of my husband's friends had too much to drink the night before and asked the trolley driver to take him home early! He was the only one on the trolley. Crazy! And my best friend's brother got in a fight with his date and the date left early, but they patched things up later. Other than that - no major mishaps!
