Default Flickr Question

I was checking the Flickr home page out and noticed something. I am understanding this correctly - you need a Yahoo ID to create an account?

Tks

Yes. You need to set yourself up a yahoo email address. Flickr will walk you through it though.

Yep, you can also use a YahooID that you already have if you want. Yahoo bought Flickr a few years ago and they made it so that you sign in with your yahooID..

Heh, I signed up so long ago that I totally forgot about this -- and I stayed logged in at all times, so I didn't need to remember the Yahoo ID. Then one day, I upgraded my account, and was required to sign in again... and I had NO CLUE what my info was. No clue on the email, the password, the secret questions... nothing.

The lesson? Um...

... um ...

... yes, you do need a Yahoo ID. :P

Close, but the actual lesson is: Firefox has a far better memory than you could ever hope to have.

I think it's stuipd flickr needs a yahoo account for something I am paying money for I would rather not have it linked to any email address (and a free one full of spam at that). I should be able to select a username to login with.
