would you please elaborate on how pbase is more professional than flickr? is it because they charge way too much compared to flickr?

Long-time reader, first-time poster here.
![]() wulf--the dgrin forums are at www.dgrin.com Smugmug allows more customization than any other site that I've seen (that is still a photo hosting site), but you have to step beyond the basic account to power user to get it ($60/year, though various discounts can be found for refugees of other services). Smugmug has a bunch of examples of customization here: http://dgrin.smugmug.com/gallery/1801307#89792281 (click the title under a picture to see the site shown). I've played with or looked closely at flickr, zooomr, zenfolio, and smugmug and have stuck with smugmug. For my interests, they have the best offering, though the innovation going on with all these sites makes for fun times for all of us. |

Looks like I'm the only one, but I moblog. Moblog is what got me started with photography. Accounts are free and you can also subscribe. A wide range of gear is used on moblog, camphones, point and shoots, SLRs and DSLRS.
It's a real community, I've made many friends there. Other people's photos are a constant source of inspiration. It's a wonderful place and it has kept my interest in photograpy up and helped me to develop and grow. |

After a lot of digging, I stumbled on SmugMug. I decided to stick with it, even paying the fee, because it had everything I wanted. You can set galleries to be private or public, to almost whatever degree you want. My pics are available to anyone to see, but can't be found on Google. I like it this way so that the more friends I make, the more I can simply give them the URL so they can check out what's there.
I'm not posting it here, because most of the photos are simply for sharing with my family and friends. You folks wouldn't be interested

I don't use flickr. I find using Gallery on my photo webpage provides the most flexibility and customization options. BTW it's free!

I use Zoto.
Originally loved it because I never had to down size images and it would do all the resizing for me and I had over a year of 2GB FREE photo storage. They required an upgrade and payment in March and I decided to oblige and have been happy since just getting used to the new layout still http://www.zoto.com/ |

I use photobucket. its been easy to use and it provides the code for posting images into forums. Not a big deal, but it saves me a few seconds whenever I post images. Plus it also resizes phots for me itself so I don't have to resize images. I don't think its the best site, but it works for me and its free.
I may look into another site or starting a .Mac account. -joel |

Posting to add: now that I've figured out how to direct link from my gallery page (it was obvious & I was being stupid), I pretty much just use Flickr if I want people to have access to something other than 640x480 on a few shots, or for some of the communities (like threesixtyfive).
