Default Mac all the way, here!

I'm a reformed windows user. I bought my first Mac in January of 2004 and haven't looked back. Have been wondering why I waited so long.

I stuck with windows for so long b/c of work. Turned out it didn't matter.

I worked some on Unix at one job and fell in love! So, when I figured out that Macs had Unix underneath, I went for one.

I now have a 17" PowerBook. It's a couple of months older than the new ones w/ Intel. But that's ok, I haven't really found much need for it. I do need to check how IE messes with the websites I design, but we have a machine upstairs for that.

PC user who wants a Mac.

Right now I'm using a Tablet PC running Windows XP, which is a laptop which has a stylus that allows you to write on the screen. The stylus is extremely useful for editing photos, however the processor is a bit slow to edit my pictures. I can do editing, but it just lags a bit.

So I'm trying to save up to buy a Macbook or something like that.

I floated back and forth between my PC and iBook for a few years, but have switched totally to Mac after a recent MacBook Pro purchase.

Default Survey says:

My wife bought me a MacBook pro for an anniversary gift 18 mos ago.
It is, to borrow Steve Jobs' words, 'insanely great'!
Ironically, I was a big time mac hater until I got one. Now, I will only use a pc if I am forced to (like at work).

macs simply work, and that means more time being truly creative, not creatively working around system conflicts, cryptic error messages, and the other mysterious issues that arise with pc's.

Don't die wondering!

I am a true Mac fan. I currently have 3. An older iMac, a G4 15inch laptop and a 17inch G5. I have not had to upgrade computers in over 4 years. When I owned a PC I was upgrading every 2-3 years. I will never go back.

PC user, but if I could afford to change I'd get a mac.

I completely agree with you. In fact, it probably could do with going further - each "system" (Mac, Windows, Linux... and others) has several favours (anyone still using a pre-OSX Mac?) and the capabilities of the system depends a lot on the extra software you install on top of it. It could end up as a rather gargantuan poll!

One thing is clear though - Apple has definitely still got a lead in the imaginations of the arty types... (*)

Wulf

(*) ... and don't take that to mean that I'm not loving most things about my new Mac

hmmm... right this minute, PC (pc at home - main workhorse) in five minutes, I will pickup my MacBookPro and wander over to starbucks to browse through some DPS posts and have a look at some shots I took lastnight.. then I may have to go into work later today (lovely mixture of RedHat 3 enterprise and W2K3 svr - all 64bit)

Love em all... in some weird way (doesn't linux on a new macbookpro 2.4 hum along!)

oh, and Wulf - yeah... I have OS 9.1 running on an old clam mac here somewhere!..
