Default Well poo...Impact backdrop stand

One of the screws used to tighten the different sections of my backdrop stand doesn't work anymore. I think its stripped. It just keeps turning and turning and doesn't hold. Its the one for the base (where you expand out the legs....that hold up the whole thing). Anyone have any advice for contacting Impact? I got their info...website, phone number and customer service email. Just wondering how they were with customer service and fixing things, etc? I just bought this less than 3 months ago. I've only set up and broken it down 3 times. Ack! I'm bitter.

Update on page 2

I'm sorry I can't help with your problem. However, your post may be helping me with a decision I was about to make. I've had that very stand on my B&H wish list for several weeks and was getting close to buying it. My hesitation has been in not knowing first hand how durable the stands are. I think you've just answered that question...

You might try contacting B&H and see what assistance they may bee able to offer.

I'm feeling a little less than happy with their products. I bought a set of studio lights from them. They worked well for a few months and then the on'/off switches fried. I can plug them in to turn them off and on, but it becomes a big annoyance.

Granted they were not expensive, but they were not heavily used and less than a year for both lights leaves me feeling a bit disappointed. I don't think I would recommend them. Kind of bugs me that so many customer reviews on B&H were so positive.

If you have the website, customer service email and phone # could you pm them to me? I don't know if they'll help me after a year, but I'd like to see what replacement switches cost.

B&H has it listed on their website that they don't warranty any products. Everything is solely warranted by the manufacturer or distributor. So I have Impacts contact info. Is that who you need also Linda? I was just going to call them directly tomorrow. If not, here is a list of all the manufacturers on B&H (except imports, they do warranty those I think) and their contact info:

I was hoping someone on here had sent something back to Impact, or had a problem, so I can get a feel of what to expect when I call tomorrow. I hope they'll take care of it. I guess I'll find out.

worse case scenario, you can go to homedepot or lowes and get a screw (the one with the big heads so you can turn yourself) that is that size and use it...and I hope that does not happen to me - that is the one I bought... I would love to hear what happens.

That's what I thought. But my husband looked at it and says its not the screw. Its the plastic part that it screws into that's stripped. Grrrrr.
