Default yahoo/google and what you can find.

So i did a yahoo/google search with my flicker name "usuqa" and photo.. and found out that some of the photo's i took of "the wombats" have been posted onto the offical forum in the gallery section and thay also have a little flicker feed that has my photos showing on it to.

No one asked if thay could use my photos this way but to be fair i shouldnt really have took them either (ur ment to have a photo pass) but i think its a good thing i meen.. what better place for my photos to be than on the offical site for the fans of the band to see .

Have any of you found your photos somewere?

I found one of mine on the website of a local graphics design company. It is posted with attribution and a link back to my Flickr page, no one asked me for permission either. I just discovered it the other day and I am still trying to figure out whether it bothers me or not

Default No money no useage!

You should do something, They stole your images. I'd ask for publication rights and money, not a byline. If they cannot $$$$ compensate you, have them take the photo down. Normally in violation of copyright, I charge them $1500.00 an image used without my permission.

did you have your pics set to "all rights reserved?"
i'm assuming you did, they look like they all are from my quick flick through ur flickr

if so, i'd contact them and let them know they stole it.
(thats effectivley whats been done really.. if you've reserved all rights, but they're using it anyway)

Just a quick note: If U set licence to CC, then everyone can use your image under the licence agreement, and flickr even encourage that by promoting creative commons in explore mode.

This is good if you want your images to appear in free web publications (noncommercial) and in original form (no derivate works) with proper credits (attribution)... So you and your work get promotion.

Of course, with CC and C, there can be and will be ppl that will not respect licecne and will do ilegal stuff... that's when its time to go back to Jim Bryant's post above.

Default ITPC Info Fields

Before I post a photo online, I go into the pictures's caption field (ITPC) and load all my megadata info into that photograph. This info helps pictures buyers in researching for certain images in fitting their needs. One thing I put for sure is all my contact info, web sites and most importantly.....Jim Bryant Photo. ©2009. All Rights Reserved. In both the cutline area and in the copyright field. I know it's lots of work to key in the info, but it's there in b&w for people to notice before trying to use it. You can save a copy and apply it to all your images.

I do most of that on import using Lightroom. Makes it very simple and it's there automatically. I just edit and create a new one each year so that it's current and up to date. I'm sure there are other ways, just mentioning one way to do it.

You can do this function in Abode Photoshop, Photomechanic and Aperture programs as well. I add the info to all my photos before editing, so it's there in place. I add this IPTC info into my workflow and is one of the things i do to an image.
