Default Scheduled Photo Vacations

I was flipping through a UK photo magazine the other day (I forget exactly which one) But one thing that kind of intrigued me was a section about photo vacations. Groups or photographers who put on lessons and trips with a photographic focus. Some were short day or overnight trips, but many were more in the 3-6 day range. Trips included wildlife and architecture trips, portrait on the go, various cities etc.

Any chance anyone has done one of those in the US? Reviews, comments and links would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I went on a photography tour in Ireland in 2006. It was a two week trip focused on photography. I LOVED IT! The company is Travel Images http://travelimages.com/ - and is run by photographer John Baker and is based in the US. He does small group photo tours in the US, Canada, UK, New Zealand, and more. My tour group had 7 people - small enough to learn SO much from everyone else. John was a great guide and teacher - I highly recommend his trips. You won't be disappointed. His US tours appear to be about 1 week long. I don't think his tours are necessarily themed, but are mostly centered around the different locations. I would love to go on another tour...when I have the money! Hope this helps.

Thanks, thats really exactly what I was thinking. Though you are rather right about hoping I'll have the money for a trip Still sounds like it would be a great experience.
