Default Memory

I use 8G in camera, with 2G in bag as a reserve. Both are SanDisk. So far the most I've used in one day was something over 5g, so changing cards should be a rare occurrence. Everything gets uploaded via usb to a computer daily and the card reformatted for the next day.

I carry a 1 GB Sandisk Ultra II, which the indicator on my Nikon D50 tells me would fit 135 RAW images [so make that like 150-160]. I may buy a 2 GB Ultra II sometime soon. I am extremely impressed by the speed and quality of the card, and the capacity is way more than enough for me, since I'm never more than a day from transferring the photos to my laptop [usually less].

I usually carry more than 4GB, although with the intention of only using 4GB. I have one 4GB SDHC card for my K100D, but I usually also have my Nikon Coolpix 5600 in my purse with a 512MB SD card, and my Treo 650 phone with a 512MB SD card, both of which I could use in the K100D.

My camera has 2 slots, so I have a 2gb CF card in one and a 2gb XD card in the other. I can swap between them easily in the menu. The CF card is a cheapy one that came with the camera and the XD is an Olympus one.

I will probably get a new Sandisk Extreme III or IV CF 2Gb at least and relegate the cheapo one to the bag as a backup in the near future.

Cheers

Tim

I carry 3 - 2GB Ultra II cards

In regards to checking my shots. I only check them each time if I'm looking for a particular shot. I was taking photos of my daughter, she hates the flash so she messes up her face right before I shoot , I checked each photo until I got the right look on her face.

Depends on what camera i am using. I have a 16MB SD card in my dinky little Canon Ixus PnS. But if i use my DSLR i use 3x 1GB CF cards. I download my pics at the end of the day.

I recently got two 4 gig 120x Transcend CF cards to add to my collection.

While on a shoot, (thank goodness I brought my laptop and had my card reader,) I used up my cards plus reused them. I never thought I'd fill them, even shooting RAW. I have two 1 gig SanDisk Ultra II, a 2 gig 80x Lexar (plus a 512mb and a 128mb--first cards I bought with my camera and I'll use them if I have to.)

I fill those 4 gig cards now, so I'll be purchasing more. I won't go over 4 gig because if one should fail....... it'll only be around 240 photos to loose - only. I also carry a spare charged battery, and might get another to have on hand. I've been shooting events, so I take a lot of photos.

When not shooting events, a 2 gig card and fresh battery is my very minimum.
