Granted, with a 2GB card I do delete photos as i shoot (an occasional break) which is generally unadvised but again, I haven't felt the need for another card except as a back-up...
Try shooting RAW all day (8 hours) without the opportunity to clear cards. Halfway through I started shooting jpeg and still filled every SD card I have.

I've had plenty of corrupted files from deleting shots in the middle of a card, I won't do it again.

Shooting two bodies with different cards doesn't help, but it's my only option.

I only got a 2gb card - never filled it up yet as I empty it instantly when returning home from having used it.

By the way - how should we vote in the poll if we got 1gb, 2gb, etc.? 2gb = 2gb, not between 1gb and 2gb and not between 2gb and 4gb

i keep 2 1 gig sd cards and i dump them on the hard drive after every shoot and edit them from there....when i get a full book...(100) of unedited shots, i burn them to disk and delete them from both my computer and my card....

one of these days, when i am both rich and mister now we have to repair the van says we can.....i'm gonna get a dvd burner and start storing all my photo files there.....for my cd's are beginning to rival mister fabulous's music collection....

D'oh, something I probably should've planned / clarified better. I'd say in all reality it goes like this:
512mb-1gb
1.01gb-2gb
2.01gb-4gb
4.01gb or more

How's that?

Default My Storage Space...

I carry...

1- 4GB SD
2- 1GB SD
1- 512MB SD

6.5GB Total in SD cards

Now, I also carry my WD MY Book Drive, which is a book sized hard drive with 1TB of hard drive space... So I shouldn't have to worry too much...

I carry a 2gb card (forget the brand) and generally that covers all my needs for the weekend. I tend to find batteries dictate my shooting amount more than cards so I do carry round spares if I am expecting to run out of juice.

I have 1 Sandisk Extreme III 1GB.
I'm one of those guys who prefer more cards with less capacity rather few cards with more capicity.
I only shot raw format, sometimes raw+jpeg.
I think in the future I will get some 2GB cards, but not more than that.
If a problem occurs I prefer to loose 1 or 2 GB of photos than 4GB.

I carry more than 4 GB. I have two 2-GB 150x SD cards. I also have an old CF card I use for taking throwable photos (I take photos using my SD cards and switch to the CF card when I want to take an unimportant photo that I don't want to get mixed with my important photos). If I need more space, I eject my half-full 4-GB 150x SD card from my Pocket PC phone and insert the card into my camera.

I carry 1-2 GB card. And I have a portable HDD for long trips (Transcend PhotoBank, 20GB model) - very useful.
