confession: I did not do a lot of homework prior to buying my first DSLR. I did not know which brand to get.

I had decided (based on what? not sure) to go for the Canon. But they were out of stock so I bought the Nikon. That's the only reason, lol.

But I am happy--I figure that there may be differences but I won't notice most of them as a beginner... and the experts can make great photos out of either brand.

Hang in there, sk66--everybody says a D700x is coming... I doubt you'll have to wait more than 3.5 years for a refresh, like the 5D shooters did.

I don't want the blue one. I want the Fuji.

I want a P&S that does iso 1600 like my SLR, and in-camera two-shot HDR. The Fujifilm F200EXR has mad pixel-binning skillz. And how can you not love a camera with a "Velvia" scene mode?
