Which would be better to get printed?

PS you guys are great.. I would listen to your choices because your out there, doing, not just saying. U Rock.
In my experience, for print Tiff is the accepted "standard".

The way I do it is have the RAW in lightroom, WITH lightroom changes (1 file). I can export that to any file type at any time....that get''s backed up. If the pic went to photoshop, it comes back as a psd or tiff with layers...that also get's backed up and can be exported to any file type at any time. I don't "back up" exported jpegs or tiffs..they get uploaded to a web server or burnt to disk, or submitted (e-mailed/ftp)...All are "end uses" and also count as "backup" in a strict sense; unless you do a lot of "cleanup"...Doesn't really matter since I can always recreate the file easily.

One more thing on Raw. Adobe has a open source Raw format called DNG which some camera manufacturer's are adopting, and eventually all will adopt. If your Raw images are large then you could consider the option of converting the images to DNG and archiving those, then you can delete the large files. The DNG converter also has the option to insert the Raw image inside the DNG image which means that you can extract it if you ever needed (why I don't know).

DNG images are a lot smaller than the original Raw unless you have inserted the original.

The converter is available from the Adobe website and it is free. It does not process your image, you have to do that.

That seems a little bold of a statement...
I still have a BETA machine in my basement, and I use prophoto mode for editing...I'm still waiting!...

Never delete your RAW files. Its been said, but it has to be repeated.

I have several external HD backups: images dont stay on my laptop long enough to make themselves a home.
