I am impressed, especially for the nature walkers, that no one yet has needed bugspray!

Heed this warning!

Default GPS, litter picker and bags

I have a Garmin eTrex Vista Cx so that I can figure out where I have taken the photos. However, for photos taken in Cambridge, I can generally use GoogleEarth to find the locations.

Also, I prefer to remove litter physically from a scene, rather than later using Photoshop, so I carry a litter picker and tie-handle plastic bags.

Default My Fav non camera accessory

Well, apart from good comfortable clothing my absolute fav accessory to photography would be my newly purchased dual purpose motorbike. It's legal for the road and got the gears for the trails so i can go many more places and get many different shots.

Last night I went Meteor hunting, and I was surprised by the first things in my bag...

Headlamp. I'f I'm heading out from dusk onwards, this is always with me. Normally used in congunction with my flash to light my subject once its dark (and sometimes to see where I'm going).

GPS Unit - a Nokia N95 with 'Sport Tracker' installed for GPX logs. As an aside, if anyone else is a N95 user, the latest software update is a must get (it adds AGPS support, dropping the GPS lock time to only seconds).

And lastly, Coffee. Freshly ground coffee placed into a tea bag to make a Coffee Bag - perfect for on the run.

Oh, and I also through in my 2nd jacket, so that when my wife gets cold, I can give her mine and wear a backup

Hi there. I think this is my first post to these interesting questions!
I'm a new DSLR owner, so I don't even have a full complement of DSLR-like stuff to carry around (I guess I should enjoy the lightweight while I'm still ignorant ), but I have gone outdoors many times taking photos, and my essentials include a visor or my cool outdoor UV protective flappy hat (has very light material that covers from ears down to the back of my neck), sunscreen, bugspray, ALWAYS bottled water (learned that the hard way!), snack foods (cereal bars and my own special trail mix stuff are my favorites) and whatever gadgets I happen to have a fancy for that day (magnifying glass, binoculars, corded carabiners- just in case I want to secure something to my person)
