So it comes down to personal preference and priorities.
I dont have a Pelican camera case nor a fire proof cabinet. Not even the rugged leather camera bag. I know the camera will be safe in the car because its parked either in my garage or my office parking lot (with 24 hrs surveilence). But the catch is that its not a parking structure, its an open lot and like dakwegmo mentioned the 100 deg outside will convert it to 120+ inside. Another problem for me I work for a manufacturing company that is a US military and defense contractor, hence cameras are not allowed inside the building, sigh! And I want to practice my photography during lunch, hence this whole dilemma. Well! I guess I dont have to worry about the heat getting upto a 100+ for another couple of months, will see how it goes in the mean time. Thanks for your input guys.

I leave mine in the car when I am somewhere that doesn't allow cameras. I have a DeVille that has a center armrest and under that there is a large compartment between the seats. If you broke into my car you really would not even know that compartment is there. Well, now you would...lol!
I have had my car pretty hot inside during the summer but under all that leather and inside this little cubby hole its fine. I do not do it alot though cause i never feel uncomfotable with my camera.

I leave mine in the car all the time, as long as it is not above about 85 degrees or below freezing.

I have done so a few time. The last being...today!
Generally i don't. And when i do, i make sure to leave the car in a lighten and opened place and the camera, in the back boot. Today i had parked in front of a supermarket and a bank entrance. LOL! I alway secure my car because the stealing of auto-radio, GPS, and other modern car electronics is very rampant in Stuttgart. I will not like to have our car damaged because of my camera. Our car doesn't have a full insurance but my camera does. So, its theft is not a big deal, bills from the garage are.
