Amongst other things, I got the the latest edition of Derrick Story's Digital Photography Companion - what a great book. It's full of brilliant little tips that I'd forgotten I knew, stuff I learned at college at the back end of the 1980s which had disappeared from my my memor, and things I'm amazed I hadn't thought of!

I also got a micro-brewery, which is currently making me ten pints of chemical-free lager.

My present to myself this year, however, was the portrait lighting kit from gadget infinity - http://www.gadgetinfinity.com/produc...cat=298&page=1 - along with a couple of other bits and bobs like a remote shutter release and a silver umbrella. I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of that, so I can drag a friend round to my house and have a good old play with off-camera strobing.

I've got some vouchers for a high-street camera place, and some cash left over from my birthday too, so I'm planning on spoiling myself rotten with a 50mm 1.8 pretty soon.

Russ.

Santa drives a USPS truck..and within 3-4 business days he (or she) will bring me a lovely new 50mm prime lens and a "new to me" Lowepro shoulder bag to better hold my XSi.

A couple of days ago the UPSanta brought me a couple of light stands, umbrellas, brackers, a 40" 5-in1 reflector set, an some other miscellaneous flash lighting doo-dads. Oh, and an SB-900 flash. That flash is awesome!

the honey pot kinda didn't go along with theme... but i loved it all!

Default Santa gave me

I must of been a very good boy as i received the new Canon 5D mk2 for Christmas.

Now checking out the forums on how to do light painting.

Did a red pepper but want to do a steaming kettle next.

Hope every-one has a great New Year.
