Hi Jennifer
![]() You can do this in photoshop. And the good thing is that you can just make your own brush that you can change size and colour for each photo you apply it to. One click with the brush and it's on your picture. This info is from the "Ways to Protect Your Digital Images Online" thread. Hope that helps, if you need any of the steps explained better, let me know

Not to disrespect you, but to respect your illiteracy:
1. Open you photo in Photoshop. 2. Use the Type tool (which has a "T" icon and you can activate by pressing the letter "T" on your keyboard) 3. Type your text, select color and other appearance factors. 4. In the layers palette, change the opacity value to your liking. Save the file as JPEG(*) (*) you can accomplish that by flattening the image (in the layer palette menu) and then hitting Command+S on the Mac or Control+S on the PC.

Ok, so I must be really bad at instructions because I can't seem to get it..
I can get the text in there with no ease, but the opacity just doesn't seem to like me.. It still ends up being black/coloured.. If you go to the 'faster, faster' assignment you will see what I am looking for on Natures Pixel's photo.. Or even better drop by my house and show me lol.... Jennifer |

Choose the colour you want Choose the Font Tool and now choose the FONT you want to use After you type out what you want as a watermark in the layers Palette on right hand side choose the Layer Style Button (even tho you don't have the FX on your button it is the second button in) I have to post another message below as only 5 images allowed in each post

Let's see if I can recall how I did mine; hopefully, it'll make sense - I've been fighting a nasty virus all week:
Start a new image in Photoshop Make it longer than it is tall (I think mine is 100 x 300) Make your background transparentChoose the Text tool Choose your color (mine's white), font style and size (you may want to play with it a bit to decide what's going to work for you). Open up your Layers dialog Add a new layer - this can be any color; it doesn't matter, because it's just there so you can see the text you're typing On the first layer, type out your copyright information (on a regular keyboard, the copyright symbol is alt-0169 - hold down the alt key and type 0169 on your numeric keypad - NOT the numbers over the regular keys) Save this file as a .psd (or .xcf if you're using GIMP ... same general principals apply). DO NOT MERGE THE LAYERS. Now, open up the image that you want to add the copyright info to. Make sure your Layers dialog is still visible. Go back to the .psd file, highlight it, and copy. Move your cursor to the photo you're adding the copyright info into, click where you want it, and paste. This adds your copyright text as a new layer onto the existing image. You should be able to use the drag tool to move the copyright text where you want it. Then, over in the layers dialog box, there should be an option for "opacity." Click the slider, and move it to your desired level of opacity. Merge your layers, save as (I'm all for preserving the original image as is), and you're set. The only thing I haven't been able to do is get the text to save with the desired opacity on the .psd file - I have to change it every time I paste it into the new image. Also, if you're resizing the image, you may want to do that before you put your copyright info in there - otherwise, it'll resize the text as well, and may make it too small to read. HTH. |
