Default Glossary of New Photographic Terms

(01) poortrait: capturing people with their eyes shut and their mouth open

(02) exp-hose-sure: shooting through a nylon stocking to create a soft-focus portrait

(03) capsheer: an exp-hose-sure using finer hosiery

(04) capsure: the first shot of a session, of the lens cap sitting in your bag, just to be sure

(05) shudder-speed: the time between taking a shot and realizing how bad it's going to be

(06) capshot: what you take when you forget the capsure

(07) senspore: dust on your sensor

(08) ex-spore-sure: an image marred by spots, caused by senspores

(09) PhotoSlop: bad post processing

(10) depth of feel (do!): emotional quality of an image

(11) Rule of Turds: don't take pictures of gross stuff

(12) photogrief: emotional state after discovering you shot an entire wedding in Super Macro mode

(13) floormat: to reset all of your camera's settings by dropping it on the floor (may also be the cause of photogrief)

(14) compost-ition: really rotten subject placement

(15) camerut: taking the same photograph over and over, causing those who view your albums a different kind of photogrief

(16) tri-ped: what you wish you were, after you forget your tripod

(17) apercheer: the sound you make after having guessed the correct f/stop for a good shot

(18) photogruffer: the guy who shoots for hours, without enjoying the moment

(19) new'd: a restored old photo
