Another Texan here (but originally from Eastern PA).
Am happy to have found this site via the Flickr group. I could use all the help I can get !! ![]() I have been in and out of photography since the mid 70's, now back in to stay (for almost 2 years now). I shoot both film and digital, and prefer/use Nikon and Pentax bodies, although I have an appreciation for Canon Powershots (for 'pocket cams'). Currently I'm drooling over, and saving for, a Fuji FinePix S5 Pro (among other things, a film scanner and lens(es) included), but that is my 'planned' major purchase in the hopefully not to distant future. I was saving for a D200, but now that the D300 is out, I opted for the S5 instead, and will await user reviews from the D300's early adopters (or await a D400/D90). Thank you for having this site available. @ txmama - are you referring to the Texas Photography Forum? |

That helps. I think I figured out what I will want to do in the future when posting a picture. I will most likely join flickr so they will upload in a larger size. I look forward to posting and learning.

Hello all! My name is Gabriel, I'm a 20 years old student, from Bucharest, Romania! I recently bought my first real camera, a Cannon 400d, and for now, I'm eating, drinking, dreaming photography (seriously, I haven't slept for 2 days
)I really like the DPS, and I hope to learn as much as you can offer! Greetings!

Hey!
My name is Cat and I am originally from Montreal, Canada, but now living in Jakarta, Indonesia. My job has enabled me to travel tons and therefore develop an interest for photography, trying to share my adventures with loved ones back in Canada. I wanted to join DPS so that I could develop my skills and learn about Photoshop (I'm so clueless when it comes to anything of the sort!). I'm looking forward to many learning experiences, but I hope I still have some time to dedicate to my job once in a while!!!

digi.film Sorry I missed that self-portrait
! Hope we get to see another one. Welcome to DPS!moonfire Love the birthday cake shot, Kimmy. So cute! Always happy to see people jump right in here .LtRaven Hi, Gabriel! Glad to have another 400D owner join us (Canon rocks!). Can't wait to see some of your shots with it. Swingcat I'm a bit illiterate when working with Photoshop, too. That is my plan for the winter; learn to deal with post processing programs at a higher level. Nice to have you here! |

My name is Donelda:
I am just a beginner in photography, I enjoy taking pictures of all kinds. I would like to know more about different cameras as I want to purchase one in the near future. I own a Sony DSC P73 point and shoot and I am using my daughters right now which is a panasonic DMC TZ1. I would like to learn how to keep my photos interesting and not just a snapshot. I have a flickr account http://www.flickr.com/photos/daf_dab/ Looking forward to getting to know many of you and learning. Thanks Donelda |
