Default New member from Italy!

Hi, my name is Alessandro Contadini and I live in Ravenna, Italy.
I'm 35 and I started photographing just 3 years ago in order to photograph the american southwest for a trip.
I was blown away by the scenery and by my inability to render it properly on picture so I started working hard to learn and today photography is a big part of my working day.
I have an account at iStockphoto www.istockphoto.com/acontadini where I sell stock photography (mostly from my trips) and I'm most interested in developing lighting skills.
I've been reading the RSS feed of Digital Photography School for a while and finally I've decided to join.
Thanks everybody for this great opportunity to share and learn.
Ciao
ToTom

Hello! My name is Amy-Rose King and I'm from Texas. I'm new to this site and I've fallen in love with it. My current camera is a Canon Digital Rebel XT. I at least usually try to carry around my pocket canon powershot because I truly feel naked if I don't have a camera within fingertip reach, however, my most used (and by far favorite) is the Rebel. I feel like I think about photography 24/7... is that normal? I even dream about it. I look forward to getting to know you all.

Cool New digital user

My name is Sharon, live in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, and I am brand new to digital photography, and pretty computer challenged...lol...
I got a Kodak M753 point and shoot at the end of August, and have had fun playing with it.
Now I would like to learn what I'm doing.
I have never used anything but a point and shoot camera, and haven't had a lot of photographic experience.
I am 69, and very frustrated because I broke my knee and can no longer get where I want to be to take pics...can't even squat down on the ground or climb a hill...so, I guess I'll just have to get creative.
Hoping to learn from you all!
Sharon

My first attempts.....

I've been enjoying this forum for a few months now but realized I never properly introduced myself, which was downright unfriendly of me. I'm Annie, from Los Angeles, CA. I've been passingly interested in photography for a few years but I consider myself basically a beginner. Getting my first digital camera a few months ago (a Canon S3 IS; I'm a late adaptor) and stumbling across this site were two things that inspired me to get out there, take more shots, learn what my camera can do, and try to improve. I've become completely addicted to DPS and have learned so much here. It's so nice to find such a group of friendly people from all over the world dedicated to helping each other learn.

I'm John, I live in Baltimore and have been a writer for most of my professional life. I have discovered photography and now it's become a creative replacement for my writing - moving up the management chain has taken me away from my writing. One question, for anyone, when people ask for exif - are they asking for the settings of the photo?

Hello! I'm Kate and I'm from Georgia, more specifically the greater Atlanta area. Currently, I'm a sophomore in high school and I'm a member of our photography club which does a lot of community outreach activities (taking pictures at the special olympics, at the local animal shelter, etc.). My weapon of choice is a Canon 400D, which I've really been enjoying in the past months. I mostly take pictures at horse shows for the people that ride at my barn, but I hope to branch out to other types of photography :]
