Hi, everyone!
I'm Jenn, and unless you find this post, you probably won't know that (I don't use my first name very often online). I live in Central Oklahoma with my beautiful family. When my children were babies and I was home with them, my interest in photography grew. I wanted to learn to take FABULOUS pictures of them! I especially love photographing in natural light. I recently purchased my first DSLR camera, and am getting more serious about learning my hobby. My children are now old enough to not require constant attention, so I can again focus on the things that I enjoy! <3 |

I'm PhotoMom86, I live in Oklahoma, USA with my husband and daughter and son.
I have been interested in photography from the time I was small. I got my first 35mm slr when I was in 2nd grade. I won it in a contest and never really new how to use it. My husband bought me a newer one 6 years ago when our daughter was born. He just recently bought me a Canon t1i with a 18/55 lens. I LOVE it!! I hope to have a successful photoblog, and also either sell photos online or become a studio & on location photographer for portraits and weddings and such.

Hi all, My name is Cheryl Dobbie and I am in Australia, originally from Melbourne, about 9 months ago I decided to house sit around Australia, I wanted to meet new people, to see some of the countryside, and decide were I wanted to eventually settle. Before I started I shouted myself my first ever digital camera a Canon Power Shot SX30 IS, this was so i could keep a record of my travels, the houses I was staying in and the animals I would be looking after, to date this has been an amazing experience and I have had the time of my life using my camera, I have not only photographed my sits but also the wildlife and scenery around the country. I have always loved photography and would have my camera at the ready on all occasions, but over the last few years I tended not to take the camera with me, now my love has returned with a passion and I would like to learn more about digital photography as well as have my photo's critiqued. With what I have seen so far around this site I think it is amazing and I am looking forward to delving deeper into it all.
For now take care & be safe. Cheryl |

Greetings from India!
I am 30 years old and have been interested in photography since the time I was a kid - remember playing with my dad's Canon SLR and an AGFA PnS (I don't even know their model numbers). Even though the subject has always intrigued me, but to be honest I started thinking about it seriously about 3 years back - the time when I bought my first camera, a Sony DSC - H10. Even though a PnS, I think the camera has way more features than I can handle with my very very limited knowledge. I have started reading extensively about various aspects of photography, primarily composition and the various elements of it. During my search I stumbled upon this website and boy, was I impressed with it. I have already started going through the various threads and reading the comments and critics in the critique forum. I will be sharing my shots in the days to come and would love to have your opinions on them. I am way naive than a newbie and so would need your kind help on every step of my journey. Thanks a lot! |

Hey everyone,
I am Jaydeep from India, 19 years old. I've been a regular reader of DPS for almost 3 years now. Yet, this happens to be my FIRST post ! ... Anyway, I got my first DSLR, a Canon 600D, last week(YAY!). Before that I've been shooting using a Canon S5IS. I plan on uploading images on the internet now(which I have never done before). I'm just a beginner as far as DSLRs are concerned. So I hope to learn as much as I can on this brilliant site. Looking forward to the amazing articles that you guys come up with. Cheers!

Hello all!
I finally broke down and joined formally today. Very excited to be a part of this community. I am a freelance photographer and writer who lives in New York City and has a semi-popular photography blog that I post photos to daily. I actually got into photography via posting my work on the blog. I currently use a Sony SLT-a55 which I love. I am always learning and looking to improve so I am psyched to learn a thing or two (or three) here! |

My name is Chris Allen. My love for photography grew out of weekly photo sessions for my YoYo Enthusiest blog. (yoyoskills.com) it was not long before I "had" to move up to a camera with a real lens and purchased a Cannon T2i which is what I use all the time. I like to experiment with Instagram on the iPhone also since it is wasier to carry a phone than a dSLR. Happy to be on board. There are some examples of my shots in my signature below.

Hi my name is Laura, and I'm a wife, and mother of 3. I live in South Alabama, near the beaches, of the Gulf. I can't wait to learn how to use the camera I just bought. I have had it for 3 days now.....it's a Sony a55, I know only how to point and shoot. I found this site last night, and must say... Thank You all. I have learned more in the last 5 hours then I ever imagined I would. Now if only I can figure out how to zoom in and out on here, are absolutely beautiful, I can't wait till I can posts something for you all to see. Wish me luck.

Hi All
My name is Rina, I'm 28 from North Queensland, I have 3yr old son and love design and photography. I am new to this forum and a little nervous. I have studied photography at a local Tafe but most of my knoweledge is self taught... I have been doing photography part time for about 4 years but I want to go pro... I have my first wedding booking in about 8 weeks time and I am a little nervous. Can anybody give me some advice? I have shot weddings before (family and friends) but I was a back up to the paid pro who is a close friend to me, he has now retired. I own a Canon 7D I love my camera and its great, I basically would like to know from those of you who regularly shoot weddings what is a good all rounder lens to use if such a lens exists? Any advice and or tips are welcome... Thanks Kindly Ciao Ciao Rina
