Hello from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada!
I've always been interested in photography but never really had the 'spark' to take it up as a hobby. A couple of years ago, I bought my fiancee a Nikkormat FTN since she seemed to have more interest in taking photos than I. That camera took some really nice photos and that must have triggered something in me. We bought a used Nikon D70 with a Tamron lens as a Christmas gift to each other last year. Since then, I seem to have adopted the hobby. This year, my fiancee got me a Nikon lens that has a wider angle and I absolutely love it. After learning about how post production works to enhance the photos, I've gotten into it deeper. Sometimes I feel that I'm spending too much time on the computer rather than out and about taking actual photos lol. I look forward to participating in the assignments and learning a lot from everyone here! |

I live in Denver, Colorado. I've had a couple of digital point and shoots over the years. In February I went to Africa and because of weather patterns there was a last minute change of plans from climbing Kili to photo safari. I purchased an Olympus E500 for the trip. The shots turned out better than I would have thought, so now I have a new hobby.

Thanks for the welcome Saralonde.
Well, I've just posted a bunch of photo's in different assignment threads, I hope it doesn't seem like too much at once, but it's sometimes difficult to find the time to sit down, sort everything out and post - I'm a single mom of two, so you or other's may be able to relate! Anyhow, thanks again for the welcome acknowledgement

I'm Ilva, I'm Swedish and live in Tuscany in Italy since 1994. I have been taking photos on and off my whole life but the last two years has been incredibly full of photos, my own and others. I photograph a lot of food for my food blog Lucullian Delights but I take even more photos of what I see around me. DPS is a great place to learn more and I have finally registered to this forum to learn even more!

Just registered today. My name is Julia and I'm from Connecticut. I've been interested in photography for the past few years. Just upgraded to a Canon Rebel XT Digital a couple of weeks ago. I'm in love with the camera. I'm here to try and learn how improve my picture taking. I've used a Canon Rebel 35mm and a Kodak p&s digital. Looking forward to contributing to the forum.
