Hi all,

My nickname is DoN and I live in Czech republic - central Europe. I`m 21 years old and have been photographing since 2003. Started with the small Mustek Gsmart mini2, then with Canon Powershot A70 and finally with the Canon EOS 350D. I enjoy photographing landscapes, scenery, animals and motorsports - especially rally.

I use the default Canon kitlens 18-55mm, Sigma 70-300mm f4-5.6 PO DG Macro and Peleng fisheye 8mm.

You can take a look at my photos at my personal website - http://don.vn.cz/
I do also have a Flickr account with some photos - http://www.flickr.com/photos/ondrejzeman/

I would be glad if you took a look at a project on which i work with my mate - it`s a HD Timelapse movie from the town where we live - http://timelapse.vn.cz/

Cheers, I'm Darryl and I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I discovered digital two years ago and have been possessed by photography ever since. I live next door to some of the best landscapes in Canada (Banff, Yoho, Jasper and Kootenay National Mountain Parks) so it's not surprising I'm love outdoor photography.

I use a Nikon D200 with a Sigma 10-20mm lens (great lens by the way), a nikon 18-70mm and a nikon 70-300mm VR lens.

Looking forward to meeting some new people and getting/giving feedback.

Default ColNed Pictures introduction...

In my spare time (and that's not a lot) I like to be busy with photography and processing them in Photoshop.
The name ColNed comes from Colombia (where my wife comes from) and Nederland (The Netherlands where we live at this moment)
I've been part of DPS for a while but never had time to post anything, today I did two.. so that's a start. I hope to have more time in the future to get and give comment and meet other enthusiastic photographers.

The stuff I use:
Canon EOS 300D
Canon EFS 18-55 mm
Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 APO DG MACRO
Tripod
Sony DSC P1 (my first digital camera)
Photoshop CS2
Corel Suite X3

Lots of new members! Welcome to all!

Susan Glad to have you join us. You have some nice pics on flickr. Your experience will be a welcome addition here! BTW, if you find a good organizer, send them to me!

Mjuboy Welcome to dps. What a great lightning pic you took. Can't wait to see more!

Palachandra It's good you decided to join us at the forum and you jumped right in posting your shots. Definitely a good start to improving your skills!

Ryan I understand the 78 degrees, we're in a hot streak here, too. BTW, have you tried the 50mm 1.8? Great prime lens, good price. Check out budget lenses. BTW, I'm sure you'll be answering photo lab questions before long!

Don Nice avatar! Also like you camera and choice of lenses (see my sig). I see you've been trying the planet shots. You might be interested in this thread and this one.

Uvsub Well, you certainly jumped in with both feet! Love having active new members! Thanks for all your contributions.

Erik Welcome back to DPS. Beautiful flower shot you posted in the "Pink" assignment. Keep posting!

Thanks for the welcome, Sara...I wish I would have found this site earlier!

Not to hijack the thread too much...I have tried the 50/1.8, but I wasn't "in love" with it or its results. I'm looking for a Super Tak 50/1.4 since it has an 8-blade snapper (made up word lol) and the bokeh is very pleasant. Plus, it's all-metal construction makes it feel less like a "toy" and more like a "tool."

It was a brutal day in the lab with all sorts of problems, but I did get to talk with a few very pleasant and willing amateurs like myself. One perk of the job

Hello All, My name is Logan, handle is VIGUY (as in Vancouver Island Guy). I live in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Been into Photography since Pre-High School, (Early 80's) into digital since 2000 starting out with a point and shoot Canon Powershot 110.

Just working away on the Learning curve and having a blast doing so. Glad I came across DPS, a great resource, with some real talented photographers. I look forward to learning more about the DSLR and it's use. Hopefully sharing ideas and pictures here in the forums.

Current Camera's and set-up
  • Canon Powershot A560
  • Canon 400D
  • Canon EFS 18-55mm
  • Saving my coins for the Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5 - 4.5 USM (supposed to be one of the best.)
  • Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 APO DG MACRO
  • Canon Speedlite 430EX
  • GorillaPod (Love it!!)
  • LowePro Slingshot 200AW
.
The Lowepro is a great camera bag, but downside is you have to explain that it is not a backpack to every security guard you meet. LOL

Default Hey everyone

I'm totally new here, and not just here, but to the photography world. Well, not totally. I took a class a few years ago in highschool, and have always enjoyed taking photos. I've just never had the equipment to take good pictures before, now I do. First I need to learn how to take good pictures...
