Hi All,

I have been following DPS for quite some time, but just recently joined the forum after getting a new DSLR (Canon Rebel XTI)for my birthday. I have learned so much from the site and am hoping to learn much more here in the forum.

Thanks,

Michelle

Hello
I'm a new girl! I feel like it's my first day at school and I'm having to wear a name badge or something. And I don't really know what to write without this sounding like a lonely hearts ad. Anyway, i guess I start with the photography - talking about cameras is never a problem- shutting me up is where the difficulty comes. I'm joining DPS cos my friend Simon raves about it. I went digital a year ago with the purchase of my best friend the Canon 5d. I've been taking photos for about 10 years - mostly for myself but done quite a bit of semi-professional stuff. Would love to do it full-time but it feels like quite a big step. I'll leave that until I have babies and can no longer maintain the pace of doing what I currently do for a living - making documentaries. I've been in bed sick today which has been the perfect opportunity to dig through the boxes of early work - and am now hankering after getting my film camera out and shooting on scala. But digital has taught me so much, my photography has improved no end since I got the 5d and I've tried stuff that I never used to do -like nighttime shots and self-portraits. Hopefully I can learn more here to improve my technique and to give me some ideas for other new styles to try. A selection of my photos are on flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/17025281@N00/
Alas, I'm not very organised so only a mere 144 shots are up at the mo - and most of those were put up today! So firstly - does anyone know a good personal life organiser?! They might help me get my act together and get posting on here!

Hi everyone!

I've been a regular reader of the DPS Blog for a long time but I just registered on the forums.

I've been into photography for about a year and I've really got hooked on to it.

About me, I'm 16 years old, I currently live in India and I'll soon be going to UK.

You can view my photographs here.

My obsession with photography started with a Sony DSC- T33, then I got a Sony DSC-H5 as a gift and now I'm saving up for a Canon 30D.

I hope I'll have a good time here and meet new and interesting people.

Default Hi...

Hi there,

I am Palachandra from India and I am 25. I've been interested in photography since my childhood. I purchased Sony DSC H2 last year. I am not a photographer, working as a Software Engineer here in India. So just want to improve my skills while photographing some memorable events.

I got introduced to DPS 2 month’s back, while I am searching for some article on Digital Photography in Google. Since that time I have been visiting and a fan of DPS.

Hello all!

I'm Ryan and I live in the ridiculous Midwest...it's 78 degrees right now at midnight as I post this...

Well, where do I start? I guess I split my interests between photography, cars, and just technology in general. Geek at heart, indeed. I got my very own digi cam back in 03, and after 2 trips to Germany, I realized I love taking pictures, even though they're nothing spectacular.

Currently, my bag holds a 300d with a Canon 28-105 f/4-5.6 USM attached (I know, I know...not the greatest). I bought the camera in March so I'm new to SLRs.

I did, however, make the decision that lenses are too expensive. To remedy this, I have a Super Takumar 135/3.5 in the mail and will be ordering an adapter very soon. If it goes well, my plan is to stick with M42 mounts and prime lenses. I never use the zoom on my P&S cameras anyway, and zoom makes me lazy Plus, the sharpness is really what I'm looking for. I can't afford nice lenses on my car-addicted, student budget. The old lenses are still around for a reason

Ok, I'm the weird dude with the camera taking pictures of everything. I admit it...who's with me?

Ryan

PS: When I'm not not in class or teaching, I work at a Walgreens Photo Lab. I CAN answer your questions
