Hi I'm Gareth. 22 (next week) year old Software Engineering student from Melbourne, Australia.
I've always been interested in photography but didn't get a camera until a few years ago. This year I picked up a Canon 350D and started snapping away more and more often. See my signature for my blog and my flickr photos. |

Hi all,
I'm Steven. Have only recently begun my photography journey after purchasing at Sony DSC-W5 in January 06. Since then I stumbled across the 'Digital Photography School Blog' and have learnt heaps! Recently I began gently nudging my wife to letting me purchase a DSLR, so I'm saving up for it now. Was aiming at the $2500 mark for a camera body, lenses, tripod and bag. Will probably take me a few years as I've changed career (life?) paths and am beginning a ministry traineeship before heading to bible college in Sydney. So I'll be back on a student's wage very soon...but I'm also hoping that by the time I've saved up enough there will have been many leaps and bounds in the DSLR market for my budget! Here's hoping! |

Hi Everyone.
I'm Heath, a former environmental scientist turned high school teacher. I've been interested in photography for many years, previously dabbling with point and shoot cameras, but taking a more serious interest since buying a 350D about a year ago. Purely a hobby, but I have sold a few prints, and had some cycling photos published here and there, which is a nice bonus. Check out my photoblog at http://www.heathcarney.com/montage/ where I'm currently showing a series of shots from my recent trip to Malaysia.

I'm 20, married, and live in Worthington, OH.
I've been doing photography since my mom got me a camera when I was 12 or so. I love both film and digital. Film for the quality and the control in processing your own b&w. Digital for its ease and versatility. Current camera: Nikon D50 I'm a Nikon snob. It's what I was raised on. It's what I know. ![]() I'm a Photoshop freak, and love to share what I know. |

My name's Andre, from Indonesia. I've been really interested in photography about 1 year ago. The reason is because my job requires me to travel quite extensively.
Right now I'm using Canon 350d and several lenses for serious hunting, I also own Canon Powershot S80 for daily use. I've been following Darren's blog for some time and also his flickr. I think this forum will be really helpful for noobs like me, so.. thank you for Darren for setting this forum up btw, which part of Melbourne are you living in? I studied there for 2 years back in 2004

As my handle suggests, I'm pretty much a noob at digital photography, but I'm having fun learning.
I have two cameras: my main one is a Sony Cybershot DSC-V1, the other one's a Pentax Optio (and I can't remember the exact model number because I don't have it in front of me). One of these days, one of them may grow up into a DSLR...I hope (Santa, are you listening?). In the meantime, I'm finding that I'm learning a lot by having to work within a point 'n' shoot's limitations. |

I'm barely learning how to use my camera since I barely got it this year. I'm really interested in Photography and look forward to all the new things I'll learn from here!
