I am Rhonda, born and raised in Michigan...although I can use proper grammar..I prefer to type like I am...If you knew me in real life it is very similar to how a conversation with me goes..
so I hope this is ok here...I have always loved photography..my grandfather took up the hobby after he retired..I was in middle school and he spoiled me rotten with allowing me to use his cameras..I am happy to say that at the age of 87 he recently bought his first digital camera so I am coaching him along...Now he wants my DSLR...the passion for capturing moments in time is a family trait as both of my daughters 20 and 10 also love photography... I had my first CanonXT for 5 years and took thousands of pictures..slowly improving along the way...I recently have gone through a serious Medical situation that nearly killed me...I guess the recovery from this has caused me to be more determined than ever to work on and develop my skills to the best of my ability... Step 1 was purchasing a new Canon T1i...and I made a promise to NEVER set it on any *auto* settings...so far I have kept this promise...Step 2 was contacting a few local Professional's that I know...who have graciously offered to allow me to pick their brains as much as I need... Step 3 was joining here after lurking and reading for over a year......I do not have a shy bone in my body...but I am sure that Step 4...sharing my photos on this forum may take a bit longer...very impressed and intimidated by the talent present here |

Hi, all. I'm Shelby. I am almost-eighteen (one month exactly to go!) and I have taught myself for the past two years how to use my first 'real' camera - a Canon Powershot S5 IS. I am currently saving to buy a DSLR, though I don't know which one.
I enjoy macro the most out of everything I've tried. I don't have any accessories for my camera, so I have to work with what's built in. I am slowly learning. I hope to learn many things while I'm here. Hopefully I can manage to figure out which camera I'm aiming for, even. Everyone here seems very nice and talented. I am excited to see what I can pick up over my time here. My website/portfolio is here. My Flickr is here. (For those of you interested in looking.)

Hi my name is Kathy and I'm in central BC Canada. I was introduced to photography by my grade 8 highschool art teacher. He turned each one of his art students loose with a 24 exp roll of black & white film and his 35mm camera. We all happily clicked away. We developed our film, picked out our best picture, printed up that picture then mounted and matted up our masterpieces. That was 30+ years ago and I still have the bug which in the last 10 years has grown into one of my more expensive additions. Only topped by my 2 wheel love affair that in good weather is all consuming. I just recently joined a local camera club and learn of DPS during one of our meetings. I have very much enjoyed the site thus far and look forward to expanding my photographic horizons thru the wealth of knowledge present here.

Hi, everyone. I'm Mau from Sanford, FL. Currently living in Manila, Philippines. I'm a nurse and a trained EMT. I just finished my Bachelor of Science degree and training.
I've been using a Nikon d40 for the past two years now. And I'm quite happy with it. I shoot portrait, street and events.

Hello. My name is Joe and I am from Kansas City. I recently upgraded my camera to a Canon 7D and would like to really take my photography to a new level. I would say nearly 90% of my photos are of my kids and I like to think there are some good ones, but I feel they are more accidental or luck than anything else. I am interested in taking more creative or artistic photos but I feel a little unsure of what exactly I am doing and quite frankly struggle to make time to do it, which is one of my motivation of signing up here.
Well that's my story. |
