Default Quick Intro

I am new to just about all of this. My name is Wendy, I am a stay-at-home mom of 4 living in the Green Mountains of Vermont. I have been interested in photography for quite a few years now but this is the first time that I have been serious about my hobby and really learning past the point and shoot pre-sets. I feel a bit overwhelmed but I am sure with time and practice I will be throwing out words like aperature and talking shutter speeds with ease.

I have a Kodak Easyshare Z812IS and the accompying software. I also have just downloaded a version of Photoshop 4.0 we had lying around from so long ago. I will upgrade as my budget allows.

I am so excited to learn. It is funny how quickly my eye already looks at the world in such a different way. I have been taking my camera with me everywhere for those don't want to miss shots. I look forward to learning from everyone and sharing my successes ad failures with others who are doing the same thing.

Wendy

Well I took the plunge on Sat and bought my first DSLR, and im over the moon, I cant wait to get out and use it.

Whilst surfing the net I stumbled across this site and thought what a crackin' place.

Anyway, about me.

I work with imported cars and kit cars all day every day.

I live near Canterbury in Kent (England) with my lovely wife and all the animals - Chickens, Rabbits, Guinea pigs, Degu's and a Cat so lots of animal shots.

I look forward to learning and contributing to this site.

Andy.

Guess I'll throw my two cents in.

My name's Chris, been on since January or so. I was always interested in photography growing up, but never had anything but a point and shoot film camera until college when I took a black and white slide photography course. Got a very basic Minolta setup (cause all my dad had ever owned was Minolta).

Used that until about 94 or 95, when I moved up to a Minolta x570, if I remember right. I never took a lot of film shots since developing and printing costs were so high. Did a lot of assistance for a friend who did a lot of cave photography.

I bought my first digital camera, a Canon G2, back in September of ...2000 or 2001, I think. My output really took off. The G2 started to croak a couple of years ago, so last February I picked up a Canon Digital Rebel XSi. I've really enjoyed it, but I do wish I could afford a better lens or two.

Default Intro

My name is Maria, I live in Las Vegas, NV with my husband. We have high hopes to move to California someday. My husband is from San Diego and has wanted to return since the day he left. Me, I fell in love with the beach...it is my muse! I must say I'm a bit envious of some of the commutes along the ocean side that I have seen this week.

I've had an interest in photography since high school, where I took 2 classes (all that was available). Technology has allowed me to be a bit more obsessive with ease in taking more than 24 pictures per roll and a storage drive that holds 1TB!

I've been toying with the idea of starting a photography business on the side, but I am confident I have a lot to learn. A search for photography assignments brought me here, and I hope to learn lots! I just bought my first DSLR in January, an Olympus E-620. I also have a Canon PowerShot A590 IS which I use pretty frequently as well.

Also related to photography - I enjoy tinkering in Photoshop (more collages than editing) and scrapbooking all of the memories I've captured!

I need to start having a camera with me at all times - you never know when the perfect shot will appear!

My name is Anthony now living in Kuching, previously Manchester UK.
Can just about find my way around a Digital Camera - have 2 - a Nikon P80 and a Panasonic Lumix DMC. I prefer the Nikon mainly because it seems a bit more camera than the small Lumix. Hope to be able to upgrade to DSLR one day in meantime looking forward to learning from both members and the help info contained within DPS.

Hi, I'm Sereina and I live in the Pacific Northwest. I been taking photos with my point and shoot camera for years, but I started using our Sony DSLR in January of 2010 and love the results!.

I'm also learning Photoshop Elements 7 and am enjoying messing around with it.

My blog is kept updated with my favorite snapshots that I take and would love it if you would drop by.

My goal is to learn how to use my camera and Photoshop the best I can!
