Hi! My name is Heather. I'm new to the DSLR world (been working with my camera for about a month now) and am shooting with a Canon Rebel T1i. I'm hoping to learn all sorts of tips and tricks with the camera - mostly how to use it in "non-auto" modes.

Default dazed and confused

I really am addicted to photography,

I wanted to have actual assignments and learn new techniques with my camera. This site appears to offer that and much more.
I carry my camera with my everyday (you never know when you might catch a great shot). So I am new to the site, set up my profile....read the current assignment..strating working on it....then decided to create an album and up load some photos...........down hill from there...

I have read the FAQ's and the instructions, to no avail....any suggestions...I am not an IT person, but I really cannot figure this one out..

????????

Default Photo Expert Guy

Hi there,

I am PEG and I have been a professional photographer and photo expert for over 10 years. It started out as a hobby but soon found out I can make a living from it and that's what I have been doing with great success.

Here's my list of what's in my camera bag:

- Canon EOS 1Ds Mark II
- Canon EOS 5D (Backup or second camera)
-Canon 17-40mm f/4
- Canon 24 – 70mm f/2.8
- Canon 70-200mm f/2.8
- 2x Canon Speedlite 430EX II
- Sekonic L-308S light meter
- 6x SanDisk Extreme IV Compact Flash 4GB
- Manfrotto 190Pro Tripod
- Dust Aid Cleaning Kit

I have also written a free e-book aimed at helping photographers improve their images. Its called 'PEG's 3 ways to improve your photography'. If interested check it out on my blog photoexpertguy.com - I am fairly new to the whole blogging thing but let me know what you think.

I am looking forward to contributing to the community here and helping anyone out with any questions they may have.

Ta Ta for now

PEG

Default Trying to get better

Hi, my name is Jim, and I've been playing around with digital photography for a coupe of years now. Recently, I've decided that it's time to get a bit more serious about it. Right now I take pictures, but I want to do better, so here I am.

I look forward to getting involved with the assignments, and while right now I'll be in absorbing mode, as I learn i hope I can help others with their work.

Jim

Hello everybody, my name is Tittan, and I am a newbie when it comes to photography. I do love taking pictures, but many of them end up like holiday snaps, or they are under- /over exposed, (unintentionally) out of focus, or they doesn't follow the rule of thirds. Or other things I should be able to control after more than a year of semi-active photography.

I picked up my first camera in order to do something more than snapshots around 15 months ago or so, after having used Photoshop since 1997. My girlfriend has been acting like some kind of a teacher, as she's been using DSLR cameras from the age of 10. She's also modelled a bit for me, as have a few of my friends. I feel that I have learnt a lot this last year, but there is a long way to go before I get everything right every time. (That might be utopia, but I strive for the best!)

Please have a look at my photos over at Flickr if you have the time for it.

I am happy I have found this site, and I hope I'll be able to participate in the community, and that I'll be able to learn more about photography.

Oh, and soon I'll have access to a studio, with lights and such. A whole new world

Default Learning my digital and photography

Country Greetings from Northwood, North Dakota!

My name is Dona and ive been wanting to learn more on digital photography for past few years but just time seems to be an issue for me BUT Ive decided that come this winter here Im gonna just take some time to learn more.

I have a Cannon Digital Rebel XT that I luv and I just purchased a new zoom lens think it is 70 to 300.. amazing it is but I have major to learn on that but right now we are still in the major part of harvest if this weather would ever co-operate with us here in ND.. between rain and some snow we did get today is crazy...so few more months to go for me anyways then I like to have my winters off..heehe

I have Corel Paint Shop Pro X2 but am wondering if I should buy Adobe Photoshop & Elements 8 that everyone is aways talking about as I do major scrapbooking but want to get into digital scrapbookin as well with digital photography. Open for any suggestions??

I luv to take lots of pics around our farm and with friends and of whatever.. guess im always trying to learn but hard at times by myself but i luv to just keep snappin away...and i always seem to have one of my digital cameras with me when im out for my walks around the farm or even in my trucks or tractors as ya never know what u will come across..

Im excited to learn more and meet others and hopefully get in on some assignments.

Last summer I took wedding pics for a good close friends son out at a bible camp so between rehearsal and wedding I took around 2,800 pics and just put them all on a disk and gave them all to them for 200.00 they were totally thrilled...was soo fun BUT im not a professional at it but I luv to take pics so they thought that was awesome deal..

Anyways, Im realy lookin forward to this site and soo glad that I came across this....

Default Hello

I'm Bob. First photos from a Brownie box, I think. Fell in love with a Leica 35mm my dad brought back from the Berlin Airlift, impeccable Zeiss lenses. Ran a Minolta SRT 101 for way many years, overlapping entry to digital photography, skipping many versions of film camera "improvements". Running Canon and Olympus gear at present. I rarely shoot people intentionally, leaning to nature and motorsports - at race tracks I drive or am an official, or both, and always shoot photos.

The world is mainly visual to humans, so recording it is always a challenge. Which I enjoy recording.

/Bob

Hello my name is Ger, 23 years old and I have been seriously into photography for about 4 months now. Took in in highschool but didnt really understand any of it. My first camera was an Canon ELAN film camera which is now handed down to my little brother. I have learned alot in the past 4 months and have managed to cram as much as i can of it considering the fact that i have 3 kids under the age of 2! I have aquired more than i have ever expected within the time cuz my wife is wonderful!! Started out digital with an Eos D30 yes the 3.3mp first consumer DSLR ever made by canon. It was so much like shooting a film camera that the switch was not too confusing. Now I own a 50d and it's like learning a whole new way to shoot. So many options and features!! I am always interested in learning more and more about the art and hopefully it be my profession one day. I seriously cannot get photography out of my mind and am pretty sure it drives my wife NUTS!!!!! This is a great site and i am looking forward to all the help it will give me and what I can offer!!
