Hi everyone, Good'ay to you all!

I'm Jimmy, from Singapore and am a photography enthusiast. Not a pro, yet as I still need my day job, hurhur...

I'm already 35 (geee, its been that long already?!?) and am working in an industry that is totally not photography related. I've been shooting events for my company, recently shot its annual report photographs and did some engagement type event shoot.

Oh and I have not put myself into any niche area sicne I am still learning and am open to explore all types of photography. Some people I take inspiration from, well the more recognisable ones anyway, are guys like Joe McNelly, Bert Stephani, etc

Some of my photographs can be seen, if you have the time to, at:
Jimmy Tan's lair of moments in time...

Hope to continue my learning journey here in DPS!

I'm new to posting, but I've been lurking all summer as I launched my nascent photography business. DPS has been an invaluable resource.

I'm 26, Canadian, working for The Man in my day job. Canon 450D, 18-55 mm kit lens, 50 mm 1.8, and 100 mm 2.8 as of last week. Already planning my next purchases.

Hi All,

I just found this website a few days ago and its wonderful! I am looking forward to learning to take better pictures and this sure seems like the right place to start.

I've become more and more interested in photography the last few years. Now I want to get better and understand what it is i'm trying to achieve with the pictures I take.

I have a Nikon P80 Point and shoot at the moment, hopefully i'll be able to graduate up to a SLR in the near future.

Default Pitan Singhasaneh, report for duty sir!

^_^

Greetings from Bangkok, Thailand

My name is Pitan Singhasaneh. My hobby is providing information about good 'science projects' and 'science activities' in Thai for Thai students.

My website (in Thai) is at วิทยาศาสตร์สนุก : Sci4Fun

Since I like photography, there are a few topics on sci4fun.com about it, including highspeed photography, highspeed video, near infrared photographi, 3D photography, KAP-kite aerial photography, and time-lapse photography.

My recent galleries are 'Sky Observaion' and 'Time-lapse'.

I have found and use many useful photographing techniques from Digital Photography School website, which I will pass the information to the students and others in Thailand.

Thank you for all your work here.

Hey all,

My name's Aaron. I'm 24 from Eastbourne, southern England. I've been shooting on a Centon K100 film SLR since 2001 on and off, but, about a year ago, I chose to get me a Nikon D40 with a couple of lenses and haven't really looked back. Been reading DPS for just over a year now and it's been invaluable in helping me learn little tips and tricks here and there and has certainly helped me improve my techniques and general ability. I'm still exploring the limits of the D40 and still feel like I'm not doing it justice.

I'm just starting to branch into portraits and, generally, away from my comfort zone of landscapes and architecture photography. Got my first real portrait shoot soon and I'm bricking it a little bit with nerves (just posted about my concerns and looking for a bit of guidance from you sage-like beings!) but I'm looking forward to it.

My work can be seen on my personal blog: http://www.lifeofagiant.com (the name is because I'm 6'10 and writes itself from there).

Feel free to comment on there if you wish.

Thanks and I hope to chat with you peeps around the way here.

Cheers,

Aaron

Default introduction

I am fairly new to photography and I happened upon your site because I was searching for an answer to some of my many questions. I take photos mainly on the subject of nature and have been doing so for the past year or so and doing quite well. However, recently, I acquired Adobe Photoshop CS3 and realized I could make my photos even better. However, I have hit a few stumbling blocks and I was hoping to find a few answers here since I can't seem to find them anywhere else.

Default Hello

The name is Kierra, Im a newbie to the whole photography thing. Im highly interested in learning all that I can from a diverse group of people. As far as my style Im not really sure that I have one I just grab my camera and shoot away and hope that I get some shots that I love. Im also interested in graphic design as well and I like to use that interest to improve the photos that I take.
