Default Hello

Hello everyone!
My name is Sheri and I am a Jersey girl, born and raised. I have always had an interest in art. Drawing, painting, photography, cake decorating, interior design, web design........lately I have taken a big interest in photography. I LOVE my Cannon EOS Rebel XTi! I am here to improve my skills and techniques. Right now I am exploring the different lenses and lens filters. I am really looking forward to the assignments and insight on how I can improve.

Hi everyone! My name is Doug, I'm 42 and have recently regained my interest in photography. My first experience with photography came about 20 years ago at an air show we went to on vacation. With my 35mm camera I had from college, I (somehow) managed to capture some terrific pics of the Blue Angels, one of which won a prize in my local newspaper.

But it was a recent trip to Myrtle Beach that got my interest going again. After taking a few good pics with my wife's Sony Cybershot point-and-shoot, I got up before sunrise three mornings in a row and managed to get some great shots which I'll post here soon. I even had a guy on the beach tell me it was too bad I wasn't local as I could have joined the Myrtle Beach Photo Club.

Anyway, I picked up a new Nikon D40 kit on clearance at Target for about $280, ordered a refurbished 55-200mm from Adorama and am ready to go.

After reading quite a few of the posts, I am so excited to have found this site. As a new DSLR photographer, I love the honest opinions and suggestions I have been seeing. I look forward to sharing my pictures and picking up some great ideas from everyone.

hi everyone,
I'm from sao paulo - brazil, but I am going to move to Montréal - Canada next year. I've always been into photography, but chose a carreer as a journalist / pr, due to the high costs of gear in brazil.... a few years ago I got a Pentax K1000 from my brother-in-law, with which I take photographs in fuji neopan 400.... last year I bought a sony h50 and I get a gig every now and then....
I mainly enjoy taking photographs of pets, concerts, landscapes and flowers....
I'm saving now to buy my first dslr, probably a sony alpha as soon as possible....

Greetings everyone! Seems like new members are aplenty on the forums, and fantastic to see such!

I'm Steve, a transplanted Englishman languishing in Wisconsin. Recently took up photography after a passing interest in it for a few years, and am now deeply enthralled to the hand-held demi god known as the DSLR.

After assembling a decent array of equipment, I'm currently working through practice and research to improve, hence my appearance here.

I seem to have a deep-seated affinity for Macro work, though hope to branch out and stagger through the world of Portrait photography to appease family and friends, and also Landscape; though currently, I always seem to end up with the close-up lenses attached and my nose 3inches from a plant...

I look forward to lurking furiously and occasionally posting shots with some trepidation.

Default BMS Studios's Intro

Hi! I’m Mike. I live in Central Jersey, but was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. I’ve been interested in photography since I was a kid. I used to work as a 2nd or doing lights for weddings and other parties. I stopped that for too long while I was in the corporate world. I started shooting again about 3 years ago. I currently shoot travel, fashion, glamour and sports.

My wife has been one of my best models. I’m sure that I ‘will be posting some her photos shortly.

My Gear:
Canon 40D, Canon 50/1.8. Canon 28-135, Canon 70-300, Canon 24-70/2.8L, Canon 70-200/2.8L, Canon 580ex ii, AB400, 2-AB800, other misc. stuff
