hi, my name is danielle and I found this site after i found out that our local college no longer offers its photography program. I did not want that to stop me in my dreams to be a photographer so I decided ill learn everything i can and just keep taking photographs until if ever i found a photography program near by.
Photography is the only career that i cant find one reason NOT to do it. I could find reasons in lots of other careers but none for this. My goals are too get a better camera, learn the things i dont know as i defiantly do not know everything about photography, and share my vision through photography. I love being creative and enjoying what i do and photography allows me to do both.

Hello,
I just purchased my first SLR digital camera, a Nikon D40, and am totally excited to learn how to use it and how to take better pictures. I joined because I have some confusion around the terminology I've read in the instruction book (ISO, aperture, shutter speed) i.e., what they mean and how they all work in conjunction with each other to produce the best pictures, and am hopeful that I will learn a lot here. |

Hello all,
CutNsuf here, but everyone calls me Cut. Just recently got back into photography. Used to shoot a lot of b & w film, but have made the jump to digital. Recently purchased a Nikon D60. Nice camera, but still learning to use it. Hope to share with many here. Regards, Cut |

My name is Phil. I have been doing photography (on and off) for about 40 years. I am retired now and have been for 6 years. My interest has picked up since the inception of the digital format (I started out with an HP 2.3mp camera) and have now graduated to the Canon xTi dslr. As a film photographer for those many years (and having my own darkroom), I am amazed at the digital technology and how great it is to just sit at the computer and create...
Learning is and has been paramount in my life and I thrive on new things, new adventures...I have been looking at DPS for some time now and you have one of the best sites for learning and growing in this field...I expect to be around for a long time and hope we can all grow together sharing each others' successes (and failures)...It is with our failures that we truly learn... Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this... The famous photographer Alfred Eistenstadt said (just prior to his death) that he "wished he could have more time to explore this new digital world"... Thank you again for this...

Hey everyone,
My name is Adam and I'm fairly new to the photography game. I've been browsing the forums for some time now but just registered myself late last night. I've learned a lot from this site and look forward to continuing my exploration of the field as well as contributing what I may come across in doing so. Nice to meet everyone and happy shooting ![]() -Adam
