Well this is a little over due after 25 or so posts... But I am going to post anyways!

My name is Travis Forsyth I am a 22 year old male from the prairies of central Canada currently unemployed and a lot of time on my hands thanks to a number of factors that are having major impact on the world today.

I consider myself inexperienced in the field of photography on a technical level but I have spent the last few years playing around with various point and shoot cameras and recently made myself a proud owner of a Canon EOS Rebel XSi but still wouldnt mind trying out some of the other wonderful brands on the market in terms of a DSLR.

As for my style I have yet to really fall into a niche and plan to experiment with lots of different styles until I feel comfortable with something... or just keep changing it up and always trying new things who knows!?

Thanks for reading and thanks for the warm welcome on many of my posts already!

Default Hi All.....

Just a short note to introduce myself.

I live in melbourne and have been fortunate to upgrade to a DSLR.

Photography has always interested me but through lack of finance and generally life, photography as a hobby had escaped me.

I have purchased a year a go a Nikon D80 with 18-200mm 3.5-5.6 Nikkor for a trip to Africa. Great place for photos and very hard to take a bad shot.

Anyhow, i am hooked. After a lot of reading and playing i thought its time to join up and help/get help where possible.

This is a great site the articles and comments are fantastic and generally very helpfull.

See you in the forums.

Roger

Default Hi everyone

Hi y'all,

I'm from Guatemala, but I live in Sydney, NSW. This is a great city to photograph! I began being more serious about photography since last year, so I still consider myself a newbie and hope I can learn as much form everyone here as I possibly can. I shoot with a Fuji Finepix S1000fd and a Panasonic Lumix FX7.

I try to shoot every day often returning to the same locations to try to get different angles and experimenting with the settings in the cameras.

I enjoy photographing cityscapes and buildings, and want to get into more of the technical side of photography in order to develop a technique and branch out into other types of photography. I always prefer to be on the shooting end of the camera instead of getting my picture taken.

All the best to all.

Wink Aloha from Ohio

Aloha! My name is Rebecca. Originally from Honolulu, I've lived in Ohio for 28 years. I miss the beaches, food, flowers, music and culture. Married for as many years, I have three sons who all serve in the military, of which I am fiercely proud.

My passion for photography is coming to fruition with my new camera, a Nikon D60. New to this forum, it will be exciting and enjoyable learning from all of you who share my passion...

Default Is there anybody out there?

I'm certain nobody reads this, so I'm happy to post!

I just ordered the Olympus E-520 with a 14-42 and 40-150 lenses. I've previously owned a nice Pentax and Minolta 35mm (over 15 years ago) and forgot everything I learned with them. I have a beautiful wife and 6-year-old son that I enjoy photographing, and I live in an area with a lot of wildlife. I am retired military and my last tour of duty was in Hawaii where I spent a lot of time photographing flowers, plants, sunsets, etc. It was fun, but I didn't have a nice camera and always wonder what I would have captured with better equipment and some training.

I have a college nearby, but it doesn't provide much in the way of photography classes. I also live in a small town and haven't been able to find a photography club, so I'm kind of on my own. I'll be checking into the library system to get some good books and videos and start the foundational education. And, thanks to this site, I'll be posting samples to the forum and seeking feedback on my "skill" as a photographer.

I hope to learn everything this camera is capable of and become more than an amateur with a fancy-looking camera. My real dream is to improve enough to actually make enough money from my photography to finance better equipment!
