Hi,
I live in Frankfurt, Germany, and work in the IT industry. In the analog days, I've got a Canon T90 with some glasses, but I sold them a decade ago when I got in touch with digital photography. Currently I use a Ricoh Caplio R6, recently I added a Canon PowerShot G5 to it (not much money to spend for a used one) because I want some more manual control, plan to shoot RAW and try some HDR. Of course, I will have to learn a lot in terms of post processing too. |

Intro time.
1 HS photo class…35 years ago. Plenty of disposables since then. Shot 3 Canon P&S’s for the last five years, mostly on landscape/portrait. Realized not quite enough for what I was looking for. Graduated to a used Nikon D80 last Sept. Hefty learning curve. Lots of jargon to sort through. Lenses? Sheesh… Postprocessing? Never used much more than Windows media stuff to spiff a shot. Now I’m wading through Elements 7... 3 forums later, I see this site from a link to a pic. (Thanks, Randy Sterling…) Figured I’d come by a check it out. A very enjoyable point here are the responses to a first post by a newb. I lean more toward landscape & macro; shot the Amgen tour opening in Sac to get started with sports. I’ve noticed improvement in my shots as a result of different forum info nuggets. The more I learn, the more able I’ll be to pitch in on C&C. Of course I suffer from GAS. I figure the better I get with what I’ve got, the better I’ll be when I can spend some dollars on faster, crisper gear.

Long time reader and lurker, but never joined. I decided that I should. I have been doing photography for about 8 years now. I started doing landscape with an old FM2 file camera and shot on that for almost the full 8 years. Recently have transitioned to a Canon XSI and love it. I miss the film but the digital is just some much easier to get good pictures. Recently I have moved to more portrait photography.
You can check out my blog here: http://luciddeveloper.blogspot.com/ Or my Flickr account here: Lucid-D Make sure you check out my "Project texture 365" where I am uploading a new texture I have taken every day for the next year. |

Hi,
I am Mohan from India. I have the passion of clicking pics but didn't get an opportunity to own a camera for a long time. Finally I bought my first camera which canon powershot A400. I have taken a lot of pics with that camera, but then I don't have an idea of taking it seriously. Then I moved to other part of India, and I started to take the photography seriously. I bought Canon S5IS which I regularly use a couple of years back, and a Canon A590 for portablity bought 6 months back. I recently bought a Nikon D60 during my visit to US. You can see some pics taken by me in the below link. World of Photography I am here to learn techniques and share my thoughts on photography. Keep clicking... Cheers, Mohan |

Hello there!
my name is Marcos, although you can call me laro, or larousse (this nickname... long story). I'm from Alcalá de Henares, Madrid, Spain. And I love photography. Just beginning, but I'm loving the process of learning. BTW, if you want to see my gallery and share some tips from improving my photography skills, you are welcomed to do it: http://www.flickr.com/photos/larou/ See you on the boards

Hi,
My name is Patrick Coyle and I live in Queensland, Australia. I have always had a keen interest in photography and have just recently bought myself a new camera – Panasonic Lumix FZ28 – High Zoom. It’s a great camera, but you cannot interchange the lenses. I love photographing landscapes and buildings. I wouldn’t mind getting a job as a property photographer for real-estate agents. I also intend to submit my photographs in an art gallery on certain theme, which I will not give away yet. Well, I look forward to getting to know you all. Bye. |

Hello everyone,
My name is Laurentiu, I live in Ontario/Canada and I am very happy to have found your community. I started photographing 30 years ago, when my father gave me a small P&S 35mm camera (which I still have, somewhere in a closet). Later I bought my first SLR, a Praktica MTL 5B, made in the former GDR (great camera, BTW, still have that one too, in perfect working condition). Five years ago, when everybody started buying digital cameras and predicted the death of film, I bought my first Nikon F80, which I still use these days for slide photography. Last year, after quite some time spent in debating the advantages of a digital SLR, I bit the bullet and bought myself a nice Nikon D80, which I love! Despite my over 30 years of 'experience' in this field, I still have a lot to learn, especially in terms of composition and 'seeing creatively', to use a term I learned from Bryan Peterson, and post-processing my digital photos. That's why I joined your 'club' and I am looking forward to interesting discussions here. |
