Smile Hello

Hello from Fort Worth, TX.

My name is Mouyyad Abdulhadi. I just graduated college with a biology degree. I love photography and have been striving to make it a real hobby and learn as much as I can about it. This is the best photography site on the internet, hands down. I currently use and olympus e410.

Thank you for your time.

Thumbs up Introduction

Hi
I am Sumanth, I live in India, Bangalore to be presise. I have been shooting photographs for all of the time I can remember. It was pure passion of capturing the precious moments and to relive them. My journey began during my college days with my father's Olympus camera and then I brought my own olympus "mu series" camera and I still have them both. I then brought a Nikon 5200 digital camera which had lot of options in them. Unfortunately I could not understand most of them and used as an point and shoot camera. My quest for information had begun and started to ask myself how far would I go and as internet was still nacent those days and my access was limited to office only. I carry the camera most of the time and was known for that among my friends. Last year, I purchased an Olympus E510 camera primarily because of the technology( four-thirds), which was different from others, without doing much of research and also because I am fan of Olympus. I began browsing various sites to know how right my decision was and well I did see two types of people, one who stood by Olympus and two who did not. I guess it is quite satisfying to know that there are no in-between's as it is with other brands. Since then I started browsing for information and I found your site and registered myself. I have had some good enlightening experience on various aspects of photography and have been learning from it. Thank you Darren for all the effort and passion you have been able to put in the DPS site and please continue the good work. Great site

Hello!
my name is Montserrat, I'm 18
i live in Laredo TX
i've always been the designated "photographer" when it came to family events
(just because i had the patience to deal with the cameras :P)
recently i joined a photography class @ my school where i have to use a manual cam.
that would be a a 35 mm
Canon EOS rebel S
with the regular lens motor adv && black and white film.

But! For my own personal photography i use a Canon EOS Rebel XSi Kit which i got recently and I'm trying to learn as fast as i can
and i also own a Sony DSC-W70 7.2 Mpx which i've use for a few years now.

Hey there. I've lurked here and there for a while but I really want to improve so I'm going to start posting more and not being such a stalker. My brother (link in my sig) is a pro photographer and watching him continually improve is my main motivation for wanting to get better myself.

I live in Austin and love every bit of it! I married far above myself (both inner and outer beauty) and you will likely see some pictures of her as I post. We're expecting baby Jude in a few months and I can't wait to snap some good shots of him.

Hi, My name is Laura and I live in Salem, Oregon.

I have been a long time photography enthusiast, and actually took my youngest daughters senior pictures to offset the cost.

I am a BIG car enthusiast, specifically corvettes, and have taken many shots of various forum members cars that I am anxious to share and have critiqued.

Two of them are actually using shots I took to have put into a Pacific Northwest Calendar that I am creating.

I would love nothing more then to become a professional photographer, but I know I have a long way to go.

Glad to meet you all!

Default New Here with a Sony CHbershot DSC-H10

Hi Everyone! I started a new thread to introduce myself ... so here I go again! I recently purchased a new camera and would love to learn how to take better pics! So far nothing has turned out too great, so I know I must be doing something wrong! I'm not trying to do anything too complicated, just take good shots of my kids and family travels! This is the first board I've found, so hopefully you guys can help me out!

Thanks!
Gina

I have always enjoyed taking pictures. I learned on an old zeis ikon manual camera with viewfinder, back in the 70s. Lost that camera in my 20s and then in 1987 splurged on a pentax camera, the k1000. As time went on I just couldn't afford the film and processing so photography fell by the wayside. Digital cameras came into my life and finally, so many years later, I have a new SLR camera, a pentax k200D which uses my old K1000 500m fixed 2.8-22 f lens. I regret saving the hundred bucks by not buying the default lens with the camera as the old lens doesn't do autofocus which, at this stage of my ability, is desireable. I did purchase a zoom/macro lens and a lovely lensbaby control freak over the winter as well as some slave flashes (that don't seem to work properly). So I found the camera extremely confusing. I'd never really learned to use the various settings, mostly I just guestimated "bright" vs "not bright" and now I'm finding that I need to understand better what my camera can do. This dps site has been a godsend for me, I'm learning quite well.
