I'm Victoria. I'm 34 and live in North Carolina in the U.S. I am a social worker in a hospital intensive care unit. I have always loved photography, but only recently began trying to actually learn the art of it in the past 2 years. I became motivated when my daughter was born. My brother introduced me to digital cameras. I have a Canon Rebel xt, and a few lenses. my 50mm f1/8 just arrived today!!
This is the absolute BEST photography site on the web. I've been telling everyone I know who has any interest in photography that this site is a MUST. This is a dream come true for anyone who wants to learn but due to work/family/finacial obligations can't take formal classes. Thank you So much for creating and maintaining this site!

Hi All

I am Paul I am 40 years old (next month anyway) and I live in Frankfurt Germany. I am British born but grew up in South Africa.

I have been interested in photography for a while, but only to the point of using my cameras on Auto. Now I have a lot of free time and want to actively pursue photography as a hoppy and learn a lot of techniques.
I have a Sony DSC-F828 which I have had for a number of years, a Canon PowerShot A470 (which I only bought for an Iron Maiden concert) and a Nikon D60.
After finding this site a few days ago, I can't wait to get out on the weekend to do some shots.

Default Hello

I'm Lee-Anne, 31 (some days I feel 20 and some 50 ). I'm currently in Malawi and started taking my hobby a bit more seriously by recently do a free photo shoot for a family with a new born. I'm hoping for recommendations and eventually go somewhere from there.

I'm using a Canon EOS 400D with 18-35mm, 75-300mm lens and a new wide angle something that was a gift and I haven't really figured it out yet/memorized it's specs.

I LOVE the weekly newsletters and the tips/tutorials - I have already learnt so much. I hope to chat and learn and share with others on the forums. And hope that this person with the *crazy eye* can fit in somewhere - I see everything around me in frames, where ever I look my eye/brain is trying to see if this will make a good photo.

Thanks for these forums Darren!

Hi there,
My name is Michele. I live in Roma, western Queensland, Australia with my husband.
I have five children and four (and a half) grandchildren.

My passion for photography started a year ago when my husband gave me a Canon 400D for my fiftyith birthday. Before that I took pictures to help with my art work. Now the pictures are the art work.

My biggest obstacle has been having to learn how to use a computer. Progress is slow, but there is progress. So once I work it out I will start posting photos.

I own a Canon 400D,efs18-55mm,efs75-300mm,efs18-200mm.

I thoroughly enjoy reading the DPS site and enjoy looking at everyones photos.

Another new guy here! My name is Gary, I live in Salt Lake City, I'm in my mid-40's, and I am NOT a photographer! However, I do have a little Canon SD600 that I bought two years ago that has seen nearly 5500 shots so far! I never used to take pictures much until I picked up this little camera right before a business trip to NYC. I think I may have found a new hobby, as I am now seriously considering upgrading to a DSLR in the near future! I'm hooked! People actually get paid for having this much fun?! Crazy!

Anywho...I'll be around sharing some pics and learning from y'all as i go! Cheers!

Hey now!

My name is Frank, I'm 27 years old, and I'm addicted to taking pictures!

I live with my Girlfriend in Lakewood Ohio, we have Three dog's (Dupree, Neesha and Maggie) and Three Cat's (Nacho, Yuma and Felina). Were one big happy family!

I'd say I kinda found Photography through my love for traveling and music, and now at this time of my life Photography is completing my triangle of Love.

I have a Finepix S1000fd (my second as I recently broke the first, so lucky I could replace it!). I like to imagine when I'm out taking pictures that my camera is one of the best in the world and it can do anything that I want it to. Of course I have a dream camera, but I like to put that to the side and use my imagination.

I think this site is great, I have enjoyed all of the photos I've seen so far. I also look forward to sharing my work in progress as well.

~Frank

Default Heya!

Hello everyone! So yeah... I'm new here and I'm really liking what you've done to the place

My name is Karinne and I live in Canada. I'm a Web Design geek and have been doing that for 10 years now. I actually found this place via twitter which I'm also addicted too (don't hesitate to follow me @karinne if you're into that stuff).

I own a Rebel XT that I bought 4 years ago and I'm still learning how to use it properly LOL! I wish I had money to buy more lens but I seem to have expensive hobbies I love to take concert pictures, especially of my husbands' band (they are the perfect ginny pigs ).
