Hi! I'm Alfie. 29 yrs old and mother of 3 beautiful kids. I have been in love with photography since I was a kid. Recently resigned from my job and for the first time I now have the time to pursue my interest. Just bought my first slr a couple of weeks back - Nikon d60. Basically, just want to improve my photography skills and capture different images of life at its finest!

Hi all,
I am a new user from New Delhi, India. Have been interested in photography for a long time now, used a variety of cameras, most recently a Panasonic Lumix FZ7.

I decided to get a little more serious about my interest and recently bought my first DSLR, a Canon 450D with the 18-55 kit lens. Along with that i also bought some extra lenses, after much research bought a 55-250 and a 50mm prime.

I have already learnt so much from reading the articles on this website over the last couple of days and i hope to be an active member on this forum, learning from all the other members and sharing whatever i learn.

cheers.

Default Hello!

Hi all!

My name is Jonathan Davies and I am from the UK.

I have been interested in photography for quite some time now, and have recently bought a digital SLR (Canon EOS 450D) camera with the standard 18-55mm lens and also a Tamron 70-300mm lens, but I also have a Fujifilm S5700 camera too.

I am in the process of establishing a part-time freelance photography business, so if there is anyone else from the UK on here, please feel free to send me a message so that I can begin to make some friends within the photography community, but also so we can share advice/information between us.

Look forward to hearing from you soon.

Regards,

Jonathan Davies.

P.S: As a small gift to Darren to celebrate his Australian roots, I thought I would post the following photo of the Qantas Airbus A380-800 that I took recently at London Heathrow, as this is where I currently work; hope you like it!

Hi all,

I'm Tracie and I'm overwhelmed. Please don't laugh...

I've always been fascinated by photography and have even managed to nab a few decent shots here and there in my lifetime but that's about it. I have never been able to afford for photography to become an actual 'hobby'.

Our first digital camera was one of the Canon dinosaurs that had no flash and only took tiny pictures (it was given to us). We then 'upgraded' to a Kodak EasyShare. At the time I thought it was the coolest thing ever compared to what we'd (my husband and I) owned in the past. Recently we 'upgraded' again to a Panasonic FZ28 and... now I'm completely lost, lol. I'm sure this is a great camera but there may be no hope for me to learn how to actually use it and understand all its settings. The best photo I've taken with it (in IA mode) so far is here: My Dog.

Am I in the right place to learn? I've tried reading a few threads and all of this is so over my head considering my strictly point-and-shoot-and-get-lucky-once-in-a-while background.

Thanks!

Default Hi

Hi all,

I'm brand new to digital photography but recently decided to give it a go after a few people have said I have "a good eye" for taking snaps.

My cousin is really into photography and after discussing some DSLR options I have ordered a Nikon D40 and should be receiving it soon- really excited! The price has come away down from £420 to £245 and it is given great reviews.

Looking forward to getting to learning the basics and more from experienced photographers on this forum.

Default Who I am...

Hello All!

I'm Jamar M., from Detroit, MI USA. I am a student at Wayne State University, where I also work, studying Electrical Engineering (graduating May 2009) and working in Systems Administration full time. I love working in graphics and photography, and am intending on taking a few classes in photography. I consider myself an amateur, who is willing to learn and share information in this field. I am experienced in Adobe products, particularly Photoshop CS3, and I appreciate the wealth of knowledge and experience the users on this forum.

I currently own a Sony DSC-V3, and have actually just ordered a Canon DSLR EOS 450D (XSi) (very excited about that), and have been in the graphic design arena for some time now.

Enough about me
Ciao!
