Hey guys,

I'm new to this site and I've read quite a bit on it already. I hope to learn more about outdoors/wildlife photography. I am currently located around Montreal, Canada. I have no idea where to go during the winter as I don't want to risk condensation on my lens or camera body. So, most of my shots are taken with my friends at church.

I have been doing photography since the first digital rebel, then upgraded to 20d and now 40d.

I just separated gear from my father this summer, so this is what belongs to me
40D
Sigma 10-20 4-5.6 EX
Canons:
28-135 3.5-5.6 IS USM
50 1.8 mk II
100 2.8 Macro
70-200 2.8 IS USM

Cheers!

Default hey

well first off my name is Cameron Gutierrez, i'm 20yrs old. turning 21 next month.
um i live in a small town in Northern California. most people say i pretty much live in Oregon, that's how far north i am. lol

um i'm in the military, ill be in for 4 years this February. joined at the age of 17, while i was still a junior in high school. i have been overseas to Iraq, and was there for awhile. i did what i had to do, and that will be and experience ill never forget.

well i got into photography, cause of my younger brother. he sort of inspired me, and doesn't know it. he's a lot better than me when it comes to it. but anyways, like i said he inspired me to try photography.

pretty much, i enjoy landscape art more than i do people. i can do both. but i say i'm better at landscape shots. of course i don't have to set it up at all, i just wait, and shoot. i guess u can say i have a better eye for landscape shots.

but hey, um that's all from me i guess.

take care,
Cameron

Default introducing my self

Hello my name is Martin, i live in Montreal, Canada.
I have been interested in photography for as long as i can remember but never realy got into it until a few weeks ago.
I own a Canon a 580 wich is now my wife's camera because two weeks ago i bought a brand new Canon Rebel XS, It has the original 18-55 af lens but i am looking to get a telephoto lens in a near future. I also bought a tripod based on the comments i see on DPS to stabilise my shots ( i do not like to use the integrated flash on the camera).
I think that now i can let my imagination go wild intaking pictures.
For the past weeks i have been carrying my camera everywhere i go and practice on getting all my settings right. I am lucky enough to be able to travel all across Canada for work and this will guive me, i think great photographic possibilities.
I discovered DPS by mistake looking at diferent photograph styles on the web to try to see what i like and find my own style, I just love DPS and all the tips for this great passion of photography.
I am maried and have two sons and a daughter, all under the age of 5,
so again a lot of oportunities of taking pictures.

Keep up the good work this site is realy amaising.

Smile Alex was come

Hello, All!

My name is Alex, today i live in Israel were i came from USSR in 1991. I'm 34 years old. Working as programmer in Intel Corp.
These days decided to start learning photography as second hobby, the first one is programming... i love my job!
I have relatively simple Point and Shoot - Panasonic DZ7, 6.2M, x12 Zoom, f3.3-8, 60sec - 1/2000.
After reading some article in this site, i got some idea what my camera knows to do!
I have a lot of questions, but the most important for me is to understand what DSLR i need in future (close as i hope). I'm pointing to Canon D5 Mk II, because it has full frame and Digic IV...

See you guys!

Hi Everyone.

My name is Michael Olivares. I am 43 years old and live in the Philippines.

I got into photography way back in 1978. My mother got into Photography abd bought a Nikon F2. Being a gadget freak, I got into it as well, though without any formal lessons. We had a darkroom, in which we developed and enlarged our photos. We had both B&W and color. Though I never got into color (too tedious)...After a while, my teenage years left me with no time and interest in photography.

I recently got back into it with a Nikon D70 in 2005. Though I used it mainly for snap shots. I now have a D300 and a few lenses and am back into the hobby.

Interestingly, my F2 experience leaves me more comfortable on manual mode than the S or A modes.

I really enjoy DPS, both the blog and the forum and find that I am learning more everyday.

Thanks and congratulations to Darren for putting this site up!

Hello all,

I'm Dave and I'm a design and marketing professional based out of Long Beach, California. I work with some of the best photographers in the automotive industry on a daily basis, so I know what great photography looks like, and I can direct a photo shoot really well, but I can't work a camera to save my life, but I've been a huge fan of photography for a long time.

I'm going to make my first camera purchase in about a week and I'm looking forward to jumping in to taking some of my own automotive shots. I also like landscape and architecture photography and will be reading as much as I can on here to get good. I'm not necessarily looking to become a photo pro, but If I can sell a photo or two, whether its as art or as stock, more the better.

Hello,

My name is Johannah, im 21 and I recently discovered this absolutely amazing website. I served a tour in Iraq and am now an Air Force wife stationed in Mountain Home, Id. I first learned how to take a picture on my grandfathers Canon AE-1 Program when I was really young. The way that the photograph turned out is what really inspired me to get into photography. I have made my way up to a Rebel XTi with an 18-55mm lens, a 50mm Prime Lens and a 100mm Macro lens. I also have a Powershot sd990is. Ofcourse I still have the AE-1 Program that is still like new. I have never taken any kind of course or class in photography and am very interested in learning anything that anybody can teach me. I wouldnt mind making some new friends in the process. You can see some of my photos on my flickr page at http://www.flickr.com/photos/freedomfight05/ Thank You in advance for everything that I am going to learn.
