Howdy!

I'm a PhD student/Scientist living and working in Sydney. Been getting more and more fascinated with photography and recently picked up a Canon 450D. Found this place while looking for DSLR tutorials/hints + tips and have been stunned with some of the pictures people here have taken.

Hi Everyone, My name is andrew, I have been interested in photography for as long as I can remember. Probably since my grandad gave me a camera that he had. It was a really strange thing to me. You had to unclip the front and fold it our like a concertina and then put a plate in the back. It didnt work when he gave it to me but as a child i played with it all the time. I have had cameras as long as I remember and people have always said I have an eye for photography. I just think that I like to take photos of what I see. Sorry for the essay. I woudl like to say a big thank you to everyone who has anything to do with this site, to help to keep photography alive!!!

Hey, my name is Sean and I am 27 years old living in Jamaica married to the most beautiful woman in the girl and expecting our first child.

I have always been interested in photography but never actually tried to perfect the art until recently after my wife got me the Nikon D60 for our anniversary, since then it has been all about trying to learn and gaining a deeper appreciation for the art.

Absolutely loving this site thus far and I hope that I will be able to contribute to its development in the near future.

Thanks,

Sean

Default This is a great site

I got an early christmas present this year a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi and I absolutley love it. I think I have spent 2 hours every night after work for the last week reading the manual and playing with it.

I look forward to learning more and sharing my pictures with everyone.

Thumbs up

Greetings all, I'm Tony from the Pacific Northwest. I've loved photography since I was a small boy and started with a Kodak Brownie camera and worked up to a film SLR and enjoyed shooting macro, people, landscapes, sports, wildlife, mostly everything interesting. Even dabbled with darkroom B & W and color printing. The transition to digital was gradual as my first was only 1/3 of a Megapixel and small prints were not so good at that resolution. I look forward to sharing and learning here and meeting you all. I've been fortunate to have been able to travel many times to my relatives in Germany and Austria who also love photography and sharing their knowledge.
